‘Deadpool 3’ Screenwriters Teases “Fish-Out-Of-Water” Story

Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick recently teased new details regarding the plot of Deadpool 3. The two screenwriters told Post Cred Pod, “I think it presents a wonderful opportunity for fish-out-of-water. Deadpool is a lunatic at the center of a movie. Usually, the lunatics are the supporting characters and the protagonists are reasonably sane. Our movie’s flipped. To drop a lunatic into a very sane world, it’s straight butter. It’s going to be really fun.” The word “fish-out-of-water” was used to describe the upcoming sequel, implying that they will have a lot of fun with it, especially with the fact that Deadpool is aware of the new universe he is in. During an interview for his latest work featuring Chris Hemsworth, Spiderhead, Reese teased, “The MCU is an amazing sandbox...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Raymond Boyd / Getty The legacy of Tupac Shakur will live on forever but now it has a path in the culinary scene. His family has opened a pop up restaurant in Los Angeles. As per Page Six, the estate will be bringing one of the “Hit Em Up” rapper’s ideas to life. Prior to his death he imagined opening up an establishment called Powamekka Café as per one of his notebooks that have been since recovered. As per his notes and sketches the business would cater to “divas” and “playaz” with separate entrances. He described the ambiance as “a passionate paradise 4 people with power 2 play and parlay,” with the goal of being “the perfect hideout 4 those who wish 2 escape the world’z cold reality.” Related Stories The “California Love” rapper came up with the conce...

NYPD Destroys A Mountain Of Dirt Bikes & ATV’s

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: NYC Mayor’s Office / NYC.gov Looks like there’s going to be a lot less dirt bikes and ATV’s motoring loud and proud in your neighborhood as New York City just destroyed a gang of them. The Gothamist is reporting that the New York City Police Department straight up crushed a mountain of ATVs and dirt bikes at the Brooklyn auto pound this past Tuesday (June 21). Why? Well, for “public safety” of course even though there isn’t a surge of people getting ran over by dirt bikes or ATV’s out here. Still, Commissioner Keechant Sewell feels these are death on wheels and wants to send a clear message to the wannabe Ruff Ryders of New York. “We will seize that bike and we will destroy it,” she said at a press conference at the Erie Basin Auto Pound. “We take th...

How Only Murders in the Building’s Music Supervisors Perfected the Needle Drop

It’s hard to think of an element of filmmaking that is as simultaneously critical and hidden as music. It is the unassuming link that binds a film together from moment to moment; it is the final piece of the puzzle that makes the whole experience that much more cohesive; more emotional; more impactful. So what is the key to curating the perfect soundtrack or score? Patience? Determination? For music supervising power-duo Bruce Gilbert and Lauren Mikus, the secret to success is enjoying the work, and having the most fun as possible. In fact, Mikus describes the perfect project as, simply: “a fun conversation,” and the approach seems to work for them: The two have overseen, both individually and as a team, music featured in an impressive catalog of films and TV shows, including, but certainl...

Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard and Ani DiFranco Connect on New Song “Disorders”: Stream

Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard and fellow ’90s icon Ani DiFranco have teamed up for a new charity single entitled “Disorders” in support of women’s rights to reproductive health care. “Disorders” starts off with soft guitars accompanying DiFranco’s lyrics taking on the patriarchy: “Watching you weaponize/ Your ejaculations.” Before the track is done, however, thrashing electric guitars and pounding drums match her impassioned vocals. All proceeds go to the National Network of Abortion Funds, which serves to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access for those who need it the most. Kacey Musgraves Covers Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love”: Stream

From golden hour to blue suede shoes, Kacey Musgraves has taken her pop-country sound backwards in time and shared a cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The song appears on the soundtrack of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis. “Can’t Help Falling in Love” first appeared on Presley’s Blue Hawaii (1961), though its origins are much older, having been written by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore, and George David Weiss from themes in the 1784 French ballad, “Plaisir d’amour.” Musgraves’ version is stripped back, forgoing the original’s heartbeat percussion and swooning choir, the better to put all the emphasis on the melancholy keys. There’s lots of reverb on her voice, making it sound as though she’s singing alone in a large, empty house. Her take on “Can’t Help Falling in Lov...
