THICK Announce New Album Happy Now and 2022 Tour Dates

THICK have announced their second album Happy Now. It arrives August 19th via Epitaph Records, and the Brooklyn trio have also released the LP’s first single, “Loser,” as well as dates to their upcoming fall headlining tour. The album was recorded at Studio G in Brooklyn and produced by Joel Hamilton, who worked with the trio of guitarist Nikki Sisti, bassist Kate Black, and drummer Shari Page on their 2020 debut 5 Years Behind. While Sisti refers to Happy Now as a “living diary,” the band isn’t too preoccupied in wistful hindsight, as suggested by song titles like “I Wish 2016 Never Happened.” Instead our former Artist of the Month are looking back to find the means to move forward. Amanda Shires Announces Tour Dates, Shares New Video: Watch

Amanda Shires has shared the title track from her forthcoming album Take It Like a Man, along with a live performance video of the song. She’ll tour North America later this year, beginning in North Carolina in early September and wrapping up in Nebraska toward the end of November. Check out “Take It Like a Man” and see Shires’ full tour schedule below. Shires announced the follow-up to 2018’s To the Sunset and a 2021 Christmas album at the end of May. Numero Group has announced a handful of new and archival releases from Codeine, Karate, Unwound, and Current as part of the label’s “‘90s Month,” celebrating what it calls “influential strains of North American Indie & Emo.”  First up is Unwound’s final recording Live Leaves, a live album documenting their final tour, due out September 2. Microsoft has confirmed there has been a shortage of Xbox controllers across the globe due to “supply disruptions.” In a statement to VGC, the company shared, ”We know it may be hard finding Xbox Wireless Controllers right now due to supply disruptions, we’re working as fast as possible with our manufacturing and retail partners to improve this. Please check with your local retailer for availability.” Major retailers worldwide are sold out of Xbox Wireless Controllers; the lack of supply seems particularly scarce in Europe.
