The Chainsmokers are back with their first new album in three years, So Far So Good. Out today (May 13) via Disruptor Records/Columbia Records, the 13-track album — the duo’s fourth studio LP — follows its already out singles “High,” “iPad” and “Riptide.” It also follows the duo’s 2019 LP, World War Joy. But as The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart and Alex Pall recently told Billboard, this new project was made under vastly different circumstances than much of their past work. Whereas the duo often built albums while on the road, releasing one track at a time between tour stops, at the end of 2019 they announced they were going on an extended hiatus to give themselves real time to focus on music. When Drake and Kanye West (now Ye) buried the hatchet, some saw it as the moment hell froze over. Others were just downright confused. Kendrick Lamar falls in the latter camp. At the stroke of midnight, Lamar dropped his latest studio album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, the followup to 2017’s Damn. On album track “Father Time,” featuring Sampha, the Los Angles native takes a good hard look at himself and explores the long-ingrained “daddy issues” that’ve both fueled him and held him back. Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news How so? “When Kanye got back with Drake, I was slightly confused,” he raps. “Guess I’m not as mature as I think, got some healin’ to do.” He wasn’t the only one confused by it all. Fresh off the back of his 2022-released underground hit “Monica”, Manchester artist Just Banco has come with his latest ‘Trapanese’ instalment, “Return of the Manc”. Produced by Reuel Stop Playing, Banco rides the 808-laden instrumental with ease, giving his swag-infused energies the limelight while still proving that Auto-Tune can be used to create something left field from the other sounds under the same umbrella. While the 0161 rapper keeps his distinct style throughout the track, he introduces a newly-welcomed, choppy flow that gives the go-ahead to be bumped at all of the summer parties coming up this year. The accompanying visuals, directed by Archie Erskine, see Banco (and friends) hanging around the local area, before we’re taken to the apartment for some fun and games with dr...
