Last month, 070 Shake announced her sophomore album, YOU CAN’T KILL ME. Now, the artist has shared the artwork and tracklist for the project, officially out June 3rd via G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam Recordings, as well as a new song called “Web.” Produced by Johan Lenox and co-produced, mixed, and mastered by Mike Dean, “Web” layers its harmonized vocal melody — “What is your favorite flower, I wanna know” — over 070 Shake’s spoken-word description of a fraying relationship. “One thing’s for certain/ This thing isn’t working,” she says, as droning synthesizer keys burst like sun rays. The single comes with an accompanying visualizer in which the artist melts down in an empty room, emulating her modulated vocals by singing into a fan. Take a listen below. Dave Chappelle was tackled onstage while performing at the Hollywood Bowl last night (May 3). The attacker was supposedly carrying a replica gun that can eject a blade, according to a Los Angeles Police Department statement to NBC Los Angeles. This morning, the LAPD identified the attacker as Isaiah Lee, 23, and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon, The New York Times reports. It is unclear whether Lee tried to use the weapon. Chappelle appeared to recover quickly, joking about joining in with the security guards who had proceeded to beat the attacker, according to BuzzFeed News reporter Brianna Sacks, who was at the show. Shortly before being attacked, Chappelle had said he needed more security due to controversy over his repeated use of transphobic material. After the attack, Ch...
When I was a child, my father the painter would tell me the Picasso quote: “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” He tried to teach me to hold on to that wonder and clear vision, but holding on proved impossible. As I wrote this song, I watched it take on this theme of beauty and impermanence. I imagined making it a duet that would feel like a conversation between two constellations. I wanted to be sung a mythical bedtime story, one that Bill Callahan might write. So I asked him to write and sing it with me. Could we capture that stellar perspective?—seeing the world from before we learned the sense of triumph or of tragedy; before we learned what we should be proud of or what we should fear.

This movie is a reflection on my experience learning about this part of myself alongside my wife and son – and spending even more time with them,” said .Paak in a statement. “I knew this would be something I should write and direct, and Stampede ...

Texas pastor Bishop David Paul Moten has sued rapper Kanye West for allegedly sampling his sermon and using it in his DONDA track “Come to Life.” Bishop Moten has filed a lawsuit against Ye, Def Jam Records, G.O.O.D. Music and UMG Records which claim that the artist has taken a portion of his sermon for the song. Moten is currently seeking damages from all four parties.
