To support the release, the band will embark on a sweeping global tour starting in June, encompassing major venues like London’s The O2, Paris’ Accor Arena, and two consecutive nights at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The live dates will be bolstered by an impressive roster of supporting acts on select nights, including Thundercat, Cage the Elephant, Hamilton Leithauser, Fat White Family, Alex Cameron, and ÖLÜM. The tour will also weave through prominent festival slots, including headlining performances at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Japan’s Summer Sonic.
Recorded in Costa Rica with legendary producer Rick Rubin, Reality Awaits is slated for a June 26 release via Cult Records/RCA Records. Teasing the new era, The Strokes recently dropped the album’s lead single, “Going Shopping”. The new record’s cover art notably features Richard Prince’s 1989 piece, Untitled (Cowboy).
