New York Music Workers Seek Eligibility for Pandemic Relief Grants

New York touring musicians – led by the Music Workers Alliance – are seeking additional pandemic relief from the state after a tumultuous touring season this winter. Musicians including Esperanza Spalding and Marc Ribot are advocating on behalf of New York’s touring workers to be included in the New York State Legislator’s Small Business Recovery Grant — included in the New York State Senate’s budget proposal — as micro-businesses. Inclusion in the grant program would give music workers — or “independent arts contractors,” as they’re described in the budget — access to possibly hundreds of millions of dollars in relief funds. Prime Video To Produce James Bond Competition Show

Amazon Prime Video has announced plans to produce its first James Bond series titled 007’s Road to a Million. The eight-part show, which will follow a Bond-inspired race around the world, will be produced by 72 Films, MGM Television and Bond guardians and producers Barbara Broccolo and Michael G. Wilson. The project has been in development for approximately four years at Prime Video, according to sources via Variety, meaning the series has been in the works long before Amazon’s $8.5 billion USD deal with MGM closed last week. Police Investigating KORN Tour Bus Shooting Outside Iowa Hotel

According to TMZ, one of KORN‘s tour buses was hit by gunfire while parked outside a hotel in Davenport, Iowa on Thursday (March 24). A spokesperson for the Davenport Police Department told the tabloid site that they got a call Friday morning around 7:41 a.m. for a vehicle that had been hit overnight. A single bullet pierced the exterior wall of the bus — which was parked on the street outside a hotel — and was found inside the cabin.
