Bonobo and Jamila Woods Soundtrack Lonely Fall Nights on “Tides”: Listen

As the sun sets earlier and earlier each day, introspective tracks like Bonobo‘s latest single resonate that much more. From his forthcoming album Fragments comes its second single, “Tides,” a collaboration with Jamila Woods. Bonobo weaves a melancholic atmosphere in the gentle electronic ballad, amplified by Woods’ vulnerable lyricism. Like the tides, Bonobo and Woods’ amalgam of hypnotic elements move us in and out of the greyed-out state they’ve crafted. The result is a track that will really hit home as the seasons change. In true Bonobo fashion, an ethereal visualizer featuring images of nature and beyond was released to accompany the track. When speaking about “Tides” in a press release, Bonobo shares that he hit a roadbl...

In a new interview with Canada’s The Metal Voice, DREAM THEATER‘s James LaBrie was asked if there was ever any talk of him trying out for the singer position in IRON MAIDEN when Bruce Dickinson left the British heavy metal legends back in 1993. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Yeah, sure. Absolutely there was. Because at the time, we were being looked at to be managed by IRON MAIDEN‘s management. And so, [MAIDEN‘s manager] Rod Smallwood, at the time, we were playing darts, and he took me aside and he said, ‘What do you think about…?’ “You’ve gotta remember — I was in a very bizarre situation,” he continued. “DREAM THEATER, we had already recorded [1992’s] ‘Images And Words’, we were looki...

In a new interview with Germany’s Radio Bob!, legendary GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist Slash spoke about what it was like to be back on stage after being sidelined for more than a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “GUNS just did a U.S. tour, which was a lot of fun. It was great because you had all these crowds that were super hungry for live gigs. And so it was a very energetic tour. At the same time, [we] also had a lot of intense restrictions. We didn’t have any kind of aftershow guests — no guests whatsoever — and we never left the hotel pretty much the entire time. And everybody just had to really keep it together so that we didn’t have somebody get sick and have to postpone the tour and all that kind of stuff. But w...

Earlier this month, Lexxi — whose real name is Travis Haley — told Rocking With Jam Man that he hadn’t spoken with his former bandmates since his exit. “I still talk to the singer [Michael Starr] a little bit; I have in the past,” he said. “But I think that those scars and I think that the departure, the way that it went down, I think there’s some sore spots. But that’s tough for me to talk about. “That was something that I’m very proud of — to be that character for such a long period...

Kelly Clarkson & Jimmy Fallon Join Forces (And Hands) for This Sonny & Cher Cover

Kelly Clarkson and Jimmy Fallon transformed into Sonny & Cher for Thursday’s (Oct. 21) special Kellyoke duet of “I Got You Babe.” In their own words, they “totally nailed” their cover, as Fallon got Clarkson to hold his hand and blend their dulcet vocals for the duet. And the late-night host recalled getting a little bit more PDA from Cher herself when they performed the song on The Tonight Show. “We had a bit when she was gonna slap me like Moonstruck. And she goes, ‘You know, Jimmy? I don’t want to slap you.’ I go, ‘Why?’ She goes, ”Cause I like you too much, I don’t want it to be like I don’t like you,'” Fallon told the audience. “She goes, ‘Or maybe I’ll s...
