Kid Vincent Drops Electrifying “Restart (the Dance)” EP

Versatile German DJ and dance music producer Kid Vincent has returned with Restart (the Dance), a scintillating new EP to dance into the weekend. The three-tracker was released with one goal in mind: to galvanize fans to get back on the dance-floor after a lost year.  Restart (the Dance) kicks off with “Owe Me Time,” an anthemic future house tune that fans of Tchami or Oliver Heldens will have on repeat. The EP then takes a menacing turn with “All the Little Things,” a surefire standout. The track’s heartfelt verses feature bubbly horns and the warm tonality of San Francisco-based singer-songwriter Ryan Lucas, but the arrangement eventually switches into a club-ready tech house bomb. Kid Vincent then ties a bow on the record with “Ghost,&#...

How Mersiv Is Morphing the Freeform Bass Genre for the Better

Unlike the sugary, moth-eaten confines of pop music, the beauty of electronic music lies in its transformative nature. And as it evolves, Mersiv wants to evolve with it. Mersiv has been on a relentless mission to harness the weird and wonderful world of freeform, an electronic sub-genre, and entrench it into EDM’s mindshare. Operating under his patented Mersiv Sound Project, the blossoming bass music producer, whose real name is Anderson Benoit Gallegos, coined his sound “Pretty Dark Loud.” It’s one of those distinctions that seems ineffable—until you take a listen. Mersiv. Stephen Knight Under the umbrella of the Mersiv Sound Project and MorFlo Records—an imprint where he serves as Head Curator—Gallegos has worked relentlessly to ...

THE OFFSPRING Guitarist NOODLES Opens Up About His COVID-19 Battle: ‘Because I Am Vaccinated, I Got Over It Very Quickly’

THE OFFSPRING guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman says that the band canceled its concerts in Denver and Salt Lake City earlier this month after he tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. On Saturday (October 9), Noodles took to his Twitter to write: “I tested positive for Covid on the 27th of last month. I was in Philly with my wife & we were supposed to travel to NYC for a couple of days. I had a slight cold & thought I better get tested before traveling. My wife tested negative, but not me. “I immediately reached out to management, the band, & crew,” he continued. “We canceled the Denver & SLC shows at that time out of an abundance of caution. My positive test led to others getting tested. I’m n...

TRIVIUM Guitarist: Tour With MEGADETH And LAMB OF GOD Showed That ‘It’s Not All Doomsday Out There For Touring Acts’

TRIVIUM guitarist Corey Beaulieu spoke to Finland’s Chaoszine about the band’s recently completed U.S. tour with MEGADETH, LAMB OF GOD and HATEBREED. The trek marked the four groups’ first run of shows since the start of the pandemic. “Before the tour, all the bands and management and stuff were… With every tour that’s going out, they can be as strict or unstrict [as they want to be] — whatever protocols the headliner deems how they wanna roll — and everyone wanted to make sure that we got through the tour,” Corey explained (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “So we had pretty strict [protocols] — not super strict, but it was basically no one was doing in-person meet-and-greets, we weren’t doing any guests or anything backstage. And basical...

Watch Halsey Perform ‘Darling’ With Lindsey Buckingham on SNL

Halsey made their fourth appearance as Saturday Night Live‘s musical guest last night, where they performed two songs off their latest album If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. The pop star sang their latest single “I am not a woman, I’m a god” for their first selection, donning a futuristic suit on a sci-fi set thought up by filmmaker Michel Gondry. Halsey was joined by Lindsey Buckingham for their second song, “Darling.” (The legendary guitarist is also featured on the recorded version of the track.) The aesthetic of that performance couldn’t be more different from the former. Both musicians stood regally behind their microphones, with Halsey channeling Buckingham’s former bandmate Stevie Nicks’ haunting look. SPIN called Halsey’s Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross-produced fourth album “an i...

GHOST’s TOBIAS FORGE Spent ‘Most Of This Year’ Working On New Studio Album

In a new interview with Pablo of the Minneapolis, Minnesota radio station 93X, GHOST mastermind Tobias Forge spoke about how he spent the downtime during the COVID-19 pandemic. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Obviously, most of this year has been working in the studio with a [new GHOST] record that we’re not talking about [right now]. But the year before, which forced most people [to stay home], staying domestic was actually a quite nice recuperation for me. I’d been on tour for pretty much a decade, [so] just being home and just being with my family and all that, which I feel very invigored by.” He added: “[Touring] is great. It’s fun as hell, and I miss that as well. But sometimes you need to go back to harbor and just remember why you&#...

Halsey & Lindsey Buckingham Deliver Stunning Performance of ‘Darling’ on ‘SNL’: Watch

Halsey returned to Saturday Night Live on Oct. 9, delivering a pair of stellar performances from her latest album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. For their first song, the 27-year-old pop star — who had her first child over the summer — gave a futuristic performance of the powerful single “I Am Not a Woman, I’m a God.” Dressed in a black leather bodysuit and surrounded by fog, the singer confidently delivered the track against an otherworldly backdrop. Halsey slowed things down for their second performance, bringing out legendary singer-songwriter Lindsey Buckingham for the beautiful acoustic ballad “Darling.” This time around, she donned a puffy black dress with a black top hat and veil. Buckingham stood by her side providing stellar guitar wo...

Kim Kardashian West Tackles Divorce From Kanye West in ‘Saturday Night Live’ Monologue: Watch

The influencer and reality TV star went further, adding, “I know it’s sort of weird to remember the first black person you met but OJ does leave a mark — or several. Or not at all. I still don’t know.” Later in her monologue, she addressed her divorce from Kanye, but started out by calling the rapper the best “of all time” before noting that he’s “the richest black man in America” and a “talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids.” “When I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality,” she said. “I know that sounds mean but people keep telling me that comedy comes from truth. And if there’s one thing that I always strive to be, it’s genuine.” At the start of her monologue, Kardashian West addressed her infamous leaked sex tap, sharing th...

Halsey Performs “Darling” with Lindsey Buckingham on SNL: Watch

Halsey returned to Studio 8H for the fourth time in as many years to serve as the musical guest opposite host Kim Kardashian-West on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live. The pride and joy of Edison, New Jersey supported her new album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, by performing “I Am Not a Woman, I’m a God” and “Darling.” The latter performance was especially notable as Halsey was joined on stage by Lindsey Buckingham. The former Fleetwood Mac member had only appeared on SNL twice before, once in 1982 as a musical guest, and again in 2011 in a cameo appearance during SNL’s “What Up with That” sketch wherein Bill Hader famously spoofed Buckingham. Needless to say, it was especially surreal to see Buckingham on stage with Halsey during last night’s episode — especially since it d...
