Raves can occur just about anywhere, but we never cease to marvel at the strange locations they pop up at in 2021. Last month, a rave went down at the Aviation Hall of the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History in Brussels. Inspired by flight and the curiosity that drove humans to develop aircraft, the IIIMAGINE event took place across three days and featured performances from DC Salas, Farrago, Ben Kamal, and Curtis Alto, among others. Alto, the Belgian dance music duo who organized the event, had a goal to create a one-of-a-kind experience. “Humans have been dreaming about being able to fly for thousands of years,” reads the event’s Facebook page. “Whether it was the myth of Icarus in Ancient Greece or the scientific endeavour of Leonardo Da Vinci, ...
When a trio of gospel singers came out and the Queen got down on her knees, the audience – which included her daughter Lourdes Leon, Drag Race winner Aquaria, Pose star Dyllon Burnside and choreographer and longtime associate Jose Gutierez Xtravaganza – collectively skipped a heartbeat, knowing which song was coming next. But never content with business as usual, Madonna didn’t let the venue contain her – she led the pop-up show’s crowd out onto the streets of Harlem for an unlikely late-night street party. Megaphones in hand, M and Batiste had the crowd singing “Like a Prayer” (surprisingly in tune for 2 a.m.) down the middle of 126th Street, with an amiable tuba keeping time and a freestyling saxophone elevating the joyous, jazzy rendition of the Billboard Hot 100...

“My intention for 2021 is to continue to set goals and have fun while doing them,” the singer says, “make sure I put my family first, and hopefully we squish out a nugget.” “In 2021?” a surprised Hailey exclaims. “The end of 2021? We start trying?” Bieber suggests, to which she replies, “I don’t know. OK, maybe. We shall see.” Bieber then adds, “It’s up to you, babe.” Bieber, who married Hailey Baldwin in 2018, just released the “Complete Edition” of his Justice album, which spans 25 songs including the extra tracks “Hailey,” “Angels Speak” and “Red Eye.” The original version of Justice debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in March, making it his eighth No. 1 on the all-...

I had never experienced anything like that to the point where I started laughing, kind of thinking to myself, ‘This is a very surreal moment.’ Because you grow up playing air guitar, and then all of a sudden you’re standing in front of thousands of people and they’re loving your music. Like for instance, Munich, Germany — I remember being on that stage and seeing the same st...

The Ohio State Marching Band honored late RUSH drummer Neil Peart during its halftime show Saturday (October 9) at Ohio Stadium as part of Ohio State’s homecoming game against Maryland. According to Ohio State News, to help recreate Peart‘s sonic impact, the percussion section was expanded by 20 toms and 20 extra cymbals mounted on four racks. They were at the front of the formation and played by the band’s five percussion alternates for this week. The band blistered through some of RUSH‘s greatest hits, including “Red Barchetta”, “Fly By Night” and “Tom Sawyer”. Formations replicated Peart and RUSH guitar player Alex Lifeson, and spelled out “2112” and “YYZ”, titles of RUSH songs. After the Ohio State Marc...

Electronic music artists and enthusiasts tend to have a fascination with showcasing the darkest elements in the universe. We’ve seen everything from Vantablack-covered stage setups to beats made from NASA X-rays to… music generated from a black hole? You may be thinking to yourself, “How does one create music from space where there is no sound?” Well, that little limitation wasn’t going to stop Belgian mathematician Valery Vermeulen, who thought outside the box to create a three-track project called Mikromedas SrgA+. Vermeulen leveraged data gathered by Voyager Satellite, a space probe located over 14 billion miles away, to synthesize electromagnetic radiation waves being emitted from black holes and turn them into musical composition...
