What Alexa, Pixie and Gabrielle Wore to Paris Fashion Week (At Home)

Miu Miu hosted its S/S21 runway show yesterday, in front of a star-studded audience of actresses and It-girls. Though unlike year’s past, the runway show was a distinctly digital affair.  From the comfort of their own homes, starlets took a virtual front-row seat and tuned into the Miu Miu show watching models parade around an elliptical stadium. In a thoroughly 2020 move, their faces were then projected inside the stadium as they watched the show, creating a fully digital audience the models were able to see as they walked. From Gabrielle Union-Wade to Alexa Chung, the audience consisted of chic women from across the globe, all of whom were dressed in their own unique Miu Miu looks. Actress-on-the-rise Storm Reid wore a knitted playsuit while Bel Powley opted for a fl...

Still Searching For Glowing Skin? This Innovative Brand Has Got The Answer

When it comes to daily exfoliation, I’m usually an AHA tonic, twice-a-day kind of girl. My skin is pretty resilient to most ingredients, so swiping this all over my face doesn’t wreak any havoc. Or, so I thought.  The thing about those fan-fave AHA/BHA tonics, is that they’re pretty strong stuff. It’s great because they really do work but they can easily end up being overused. Twice a week is probably a better idea than twice a day as they can lead to sensitised skin as they penetrate so deeply and can end up disrupting healthy skin barriers.  Enter Medik8, with a solution. PHAs (polyhydroxy acids) are where it’s at for gentle but effective exfoliation and Press & Glow uses gluconolactone to get the job done. As the molecules are l...

Katie Holmes Wore the New It Sneakers That Sold Out Immediately

I regret to inform you that fall’s It sneakers are already sold out, but I still thought you should know about them because Katie Holmes wore them, which is noteworthy for obvious reasons, and who knows, maybe they’ll restock, or maybe you’ll want to shop for a similar pair. The sneakers in question are from Staud’s second collaboration with New Balance, which is an epic marrying of two It brands which of course produced a pair of It sneakers. For the collaboration, Staud updated New Balance’s classic 327 sneakers with a bold burgundy N and a gum sole. The resulting shoes are in perfect step with the season’s retro sneaker trend, and would look exceedingly cool with a variety of fall outfits (like Holmes’ coat and jeans). I...

This Product Range Promises to Help With Hair Fallout, and We’re Sold

It’s likely that most of us have complained about our hair falling out at one time or another. Whether it’s coming out in surprising clumps when washing or you’re simply seeing more on your brush than usual, hair breakage and subsequent fall is not uncommon at all. In fact, 7 out of 10 of us will experience it at some point in our life. It’s also become one of the leading concerns among us, particularly millennials, above the usual suspects of dryness or damage. Luckily one of our favourite hair care brands, Kérastase, has an established range of products within its Genesis collection dedicated to preventing the causes and solving the issue of hair fall and to be honest, we’re sold (plus, if Emily Ratajkowski is a fan, it must be good).   It may come and go, but there’s no d...

If I Could Wear One Designer for the Rest of My Life, It Would Be This One

When you really fall in love with a brand, you fall hard. Well, at least I know I do. I’ve been a fan of the Isabel Marant’s casual but undeniably French creations for as long as I can remember. While I don’t have the finances to own everything from the label, I do own a red and black checked jacket (quite the trademark), a blazer and a slinky black satin top. Almost everything else I own in my wardrobe is a high-street copy of the designer’s classic pieces—high-waisted jeans with barrel legs, knitwear with exaggerated shoulders, and a classic black belt to wrap around my oversize jumpers.  Just last week, Marant showed her spring/summer 2021 collection. It was full of her signature styles: oversize shoulders, slouchy boots, flashes of bold prints and silv...

Liberty’s Advent Calendar Launches Today—and This Is Why We Think It’s Worth It

Now, when it comes to beauty advent calendars, you fall into one of two camps—either you prefer to keep the contents of each drawer a complete surprise, or you insist on knowing exactly what to expect to find inside before you buy. Should you identify with the latter, you’ll be pleased to hear we’ve procured the full list below. A word of caution, however; once you see exactly what the £215 Liberty beauty advent calendar will get you, you’ll struggle to find an excuse not to treat yourself (or a very lucky someone) to it. The One Ingredient That Skin Experts and Cool Girls Are Obsessed With Right Now

So what’s the difference between CBD and hemp oil? Turns out, quite a lot. “The most common mistake is confusing hempseed oil, also known as cannabis sativa seed oil, with CBD, which is usually found in ingredient lists as ‘CBD isolate’ or ‘cannabidiol.’ These are two separate ingredients from the same plant, hemp, and deliver distinct skincare benefits,” explains Loureiro. In essence, whereas CBD addresses the many skin issues discussed already, hempseed oil is far more focused on providing hydration for dry skin. However, while there is a huge buzz around CBD oil right now (with fans advocating for the way that it combats everything from anxiety and period pains to hormonal breakouts and eczema), consultant dermatologist Justine Kluk was kee...

Fashion People Are Obsessed With These 5 Home Décor Trends

When it comes to home décor, Brooklyn-based store Claude Home is one I always turn to for inspiration. A quick glance at its Instagram feed, @claudehome, and you’ll see a steady stream of beautiful spaces designed with cult vintage pieces like Jeanneret chairs, serpentine sofas, brumbury lamps, and waterfall coffee tables—items that you’ll often spot in the homes of fashion insiders. So it came as no surprise that owner Maggie Holladay got her start in fashion before moving into home décor. Chatting with Holladay, I was interested to learn how she ended up in interiors after beginning in fashion. “Right when I turned 21, I landed my dream job with a stylist I looked up to for years,” Holladay explained. “After about a year there, I mentally was drifting away and started to realis...

The Duchess of Cambridge Just Found the Perfect Coat On the High Street

The Duchess of Cambridge’s style is often considered a little bland for the fashion crowd—too many Breton tops, coat dresses and beige patent pumps for the street style set’s liking. Given that she’s representing the royal family on an international stage, Kate Middleton needs to look polished; select classic items she tends to choose will photograph well and won’t date after several months. It’s not an easy task to tick all of these protocol boxes while also pleasing the fashion crowd. However, over the past few years, Kate has been making considerably more fashion-forward choices, favouring sharp tailoring, avoiding bold colours and experimenting with hair accessories. Rather than Queen Elizabeth–style coat dresses in primary hues, she started wear...

These Statement Knitwear Pieces Are Perfect for 2020’s “Party Season”

I can’t imagine that “party” will be the first word that comes to mind when we look back on 2020, but even in the depths of lockdown and with the constrictions of social distancing, it’s fair to say that we will find a way to celebrate the things in life that are worth celebrating—one way or another. So no, we might not be donning our finest frocks and hitting the town in towering heels, but worry not because the humble jumper is here to save the day in all its newly spangled glory. That’s right. It’s time to pimp your knit.  You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. It begins with giving you back power. 2020’s Ultimate Look-at-Me Bag Just Launched on Net-a-Porter

When it comes to luxury handbags, there has been a notable shift towards quiet understated styles, and a move away from anything too shouty or distinctive. This desire for timeless pieces is a mood we are seeing across the fashion world for autumn/winter 2020 and many houses are delving through the archive to create handbags that are rooted in heritage. There is one bag that is an exception to this rule, however, as at Bottega Veneta the handbags look like they have been dipped into a bowl of linguini and are as distinctive as they come. Fringing is a trend that we have seen across many of the major designer collections, but no-one took it as seriously as Daniel Lee at Bottega Veneta. The brand has created oversize crossbody bags and fold-over clutches that have a leather fringe ...
