No One Does Christmas Better Than John Lewis—and These Items Prove It

The run up to Christmas this year is looking slightly different to how it normally would. We’re forgoing packed office parties for festive Zoom drinks, family reunions for scaled down socialising and bustling pubs for a bottle of red in our front rooms. Something we’ve found helpful through all this change, is to focus on the simple pleasures in life. Whether that means treating yourself to that great smelling candle you’ve wanted for a while, indulging in a fresh loungewear set, or even finding the perfect gift for a loved one you’re missing.  For any and all of these little luxuries, John Lewis & Partners is the one place we’re heading to right now. We all know how great the high street retailer is at nailing those festive ads, but it’s their thoughtful selection of perfect pic...

I’m a Knitted Vest Fan, and These Are the Outfits I Want to Try This Winter

Reminiscent of stuffy professors, teen movie nerds and, of course, Chandler from Friends, the sweater vest isthe jumper trend that has won the hearts of the nation this season (well, if not the nation, then the fashion community at least). Historically, it was one of those items of clothing that was synonymous with ‘uncool’ individuals, but it’s fair to say the last 12 months has been a celebration of all things frumpy, with editors and influencers alike embracing the quirky appeal of homely knitwear and practical shoes. I have well and truly fallen for the sweater vest this season, and I was kindly given a cream oversized iteration from H&M last winter and have worn it constantly over white shirts and cream roll-necks. It’s a true layering hero. Personally, I f...

9 Under-the-Radar Beauty Brands We’re So Impressed By

When it comes to curating your beauty bag, it’s important to consider its contents carefully. Of course, it’s absolutely okay to include products from incredibly iconic beauty brands in your edit (hundreds upon thousands of people contributing to making, marketing and selling them after all). Still, now more than ever, it’s crucial to balance out those conglomerates with businesses that operate on a significantly smaller scale, and that will directly benefit from any money you decide to spend with them. Owing to the sheer excellence of the independent beauty scene right now, smaller brands are producing potent, high-performing products that give the latest multi-million-pound launches from beauty’s big names a run for their money. That said, making the leap from a h...

Guccifest Has Officially Begun With the Launch of Ahluwalia’s New Film “Joy”

Designer Priya Ahluwalia has joined forces with Gucci, as part of the brand’s first ever digital film festival, Guccifest. The event, which launched 16 Nov. and is running until 22 Nov., will premiere Alessandro Michele’s latest collection via a seven-episode mini series titled “Ouverture of Something that Never Ended”. Codirected by award-winning film director Gus Van Sant, the miniseries will feature a host of international talents including Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, and Arlo Parks. The launch has come as a result of Michele choosing to go in a different direction to the traditional fashion week schedule and instead offering two seasonless and genderless shows a year. On the topic, Michele revealed “I will abandon the worn-out ritual of seasonalities and ...

I’ve Spent Days Searching for Homeware, and These Items Are the Best of the Best

My love of fashion has ever so slightly dwindled this year, as all of my favourite dresses, shoes, and accessories have been retired to the back of my wardrobe, and “dressing up” has become a distant memory. Instead of hunting for new brands and items in my spare time, I’ve become obsessed with homeware, so my Christmas shopping reflects this shift. Spending so much time inside my home over the past year has really made me think about how I can make my space feel special and comforting, and my Christmas wish list this year is filled with items that will make me love my space even more in 2021. Just like clothes, homeware can be difficult to buy for someone else, as it is so personal, especially when it comes to big purchases. So for this gift guide, I’ve split it in...

Here’s What Our Editors Always Buy From Arket

With its premium fabrics, classic fits and chic colourways, it’s no surprise that Arket has become a go-to in the wardrobes of fashion editors everywhere. You need only go into one of the stores (post-lockdown, that is), to understand that this is a brand that knows how the consumer wants to shop and what they want to buy. I mean, its colour-coded sock wall is enough to make any perfectionist go weak at the knees.  But really, what we want to talk about is the clothes, and specifically the clothes our editors buy from Arket. After a bit of digging, it turned out that each Who What Wear editor has one category in particular that they turned to, for example, Hannah Almassi waxes lyrical about the flattering fit of the trousers (take note if you struggle to find a good fit on the high s...

I’m Impatient, so I’m Already Wearing 2021’s Biggest Nail Colours

While there’s plenty of delight to be found in the now (looking at you cosy jumpers, gorgeous coats, and latest crop of It boots), we still can’t stop our minds from wandering to 2021. Of course, we can’t tell you what next year will look like—no crystal ball is powerful enough to do that level of foretelling—but with so much promise pinned on it, we’re already getting excited about what 2021 may have in store. The hope is that we’ll get to wear the fancy dresses and high heels that were made redundant in the wake of lockdown. Until such an opportunity presents itself, there is another, incredibly easy way to switch up, nay, reignite your style for the year ahead: a new wardrobe of nail colours.  A new slick of nail colour is one of the fastest ways to freshen...

The Products Beauty Editors Are Genuinely Buying Their Loved Ones for Christmas

As soon as November hits, we beauty editors start to become inundated with festive gifts—sadly, not to keep but to get up close and personal with so that we can compile a totally honest, well-researched, and thoroughly considered edit of the very best beauty gifts out there for Christmas. If you have a beauty lover in your life who you’re struggling to buy for, a beauty editor could likely reel off countless gifts that would put a smile on the faces of even the hardest to please. However, while recommending products to others is easy as pie, trying to decide what to gift our own loved ones is a little trickier—there’s simply too much to choose from. In essence, out of the hundreds of products beauty editors get to try every year, you better believe that the ones we deem worthy of gifting t...

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge connected with one of the finalists for her Hold Still portrait campaign with the National Portrait Gallery. To celebrate the occasion, Catherine wore an affordable powder blue cardigan from homegrown sustainable brand Boden. “Thank you for being part of Hold Still 2020!”, said Kensington Royal on social media. “The portraits that illustrate your stories and experiences of lockdown have shown just how much communities have come together during this difficult year.
