29 Simple Summer Pieces That Will Make Getting Dressed Easier

Regardless of what your summer plans look like, as the weather gets hotter we always gravitate towards simpler, easy-to-style items. So we’ve looked through hundreds of collections to bring you a concise edit of 29 pieces that we think are no-brainers for this summer and years beyond.  The below items are some of the most simple but effective throw-on styles we have found that will make getting dressed in the morning a little easier. From May onwards, we often lean on timeless separates, and these are what our editors are wearing for days at home, afternoons in the sunshine or al fresco dining.  The easy-to-style buys we rate and would add to any summer capsule include elegant T-Shirt dresses, comfortable Teva sandals, linen trousers, throw-on dresses and a basket bag....

Fashion Insiders Have Proclaimed This Summer’s Coolest Staple

Once a fabric with a reputation for being difficult to wear (not to mention to iron), linen has regained affection in the fashion world over the past couple of summers. The material has dominated everything from dresses to co-ords and trousers, with labels like Bondi Born, Faithfull the Brand, and Prada serving up chic linen garments. Still, perhaps the most in-demand linen item remains the simplest: the shirt. Even when linen had largely fallen out of style, linen shirts remained ever-present. And with the warmer months coming upon us swiftly, now seems like the perfect time to invest in one should your wardrobe be lacking. While classic shades of black, white and beige will always be a safe sartorial bet, we’ve noticed that more and more of our influencer friends are opting fo...

I Swear By These 6 Products When I’m Feeling Stressed

If you’d asked pre-2020 me if I was prone to stress, I would have said no. That’s not to say that I never felt stressed. Daily commutes, a busy workweek and a jam-packed social calendar meant that there were definitely times when I felt frazzled, but I wasn’t used to dealing with prolonged periods of stress. Then, that all changed. Of course, we all know what happened: a global pandemic hit and totally turned all of our daily lives upside down. When the UK entered its first lockdown, I had an 11-week-old baby, and my stress levels were through the roof. I felt constantly on high alert. I was jumpy, my heart would race at the slightest noise, and I was incredibly anxious. And, baby aside, I know I’m not alone in finding the last yea...

7 Easy Yet Fashionable Outfit Ideas Perfect for Eid

Although it seems like Ramadan just started, Eid al-Fitr is approaching fast. The holiday calls for lots of celebration, and there’s no doubt everyone shows up with some of their best outfits. Muslim women will wear everything from the fanciest looks to cool-girl, dressed-down outfits that are still elevated and put-together. As someone who often turns toward traditional Pakistani clothing to celebrate Eid, I still love to look at the plethora of ensembles women put together for the joyful occasion, as they often inspire my outfits for months to come. As Eid comes on the heels of Ramadan, which is a period of reflection and growth, it’s common for fashion to be dictated by a woman’s newfound sense of self. Perhaps that means playing with color, finding a new silhouette...

20 Outfit Ideas I Have Really Loved This Week

There’s nothing quite like the inexplicable satisfaction of a really good outfit. Sometimes it can be hard to put your finger on what it is exactly that makes something work: It could be a clever colour combination, an unexpected silhouette, or even a subtle trim on a pair of trousers. As a fashion editor, it is my job to keep an eye out for these winning ensembles. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it. We even have a channel on Slack that is literally dedicated to great outfits, and boy, are there plenty to choose from.  This story is essentially a line-up of all the fabulous outfits that have been given the Slack-channel seal of approval. I find that the looks that stand out to me are often relatively simple in composition ...

From Bottega to Arket, This Is the Summer Colour Every Cool Brand Is Doing

Green isn’t always associated with the positive. It can mean that you’re ill or that you’re envious. But this season, green is having its moment. Wherever I look, this hue has been embraced, from influencers to the runways. Bottega Veneta’s current collection is full of the colour but so are Arket and plenty of other high-street stores. It’s hard to avoid it, quite frankly. I can imagine, however, that some would have a little trepidation over trying out this bold colour. For starters, this season’s green isn’t in the pastel range. It’s a bold, in-your-face wicked-witch kind of green. When you wear it, you will get noticed. So then, how do you blend that seamlessly into your wardrobe? Spoiler: you don’t. Perhaps one of the reasons ...

26 Celebs and Fashion Girls Who Are Making Me Want to Grow My Hair Long

I have a confession to make: I was so overjoyed when hair salons reopened last month that I hastily booked an appointment and merrily made my along to the salon chair where I requested that the hairdresser chop it all off without much though about whether that’s what I really wanted. Nevertheless, I’m now sporting a one-length bob that falls just past my chin and trying not to spend too much time scrolling through images of people with lovely long locks. Because I’ll be totally honest, long hair is looking really good to me right now. I’m not alone either. I recently caught up with a few hairstylists to find out what the most popular post-lockdown haircuts have been and it turns out that a lot of their clie...

I Swear By These 6 Products When I’m Feeling Stressed Out

If you’d asked pre-2020 me if I was someone that was prone to stress I would have said no. These Are the 9 Pieces You Need for a Summer Capsule Wardrobe

I’m pretty strict when it comes to a summer capsule wardrobe. Years ago, I might have been tempted to ensure there were loads of summer dresses and loose-fitting trousers in my wardrobe, but I’m now set on only a few items. This reasoning is absolutely to do with sustainability and ensuring my wardrobe works as hard as possible for me, but also, when it’s hot, you don’t want options—you just want pieces that make you look and feel good.  I’ve finally narrowed down my warmer-weather outfits to just nine pieces. It doesn’t seem like very much, but all of these items are perfect for mixing together and creating different looks. Not to mention, I’ve included plenty of accessories. Sunglasses, a pair of sandals that work with everything, ...

7 Times Harry Styles Copied Mick Jagger’s Iconic ’70s Outfits

Harry Styles might be a one in a million star, but we can’t help but see similarities between his style and that of Rolling Stones frontman and 1970s icon Mick Jagger. There have been a number of occasions where Styles’s love of statement suits, androgynous outfits, and sensual, on-stage swagger have been compared to Jagger’s — and we found some of the best photos of their matching style moments. We aren’t the only ones who think Harry Styles and Mick Jagger are doppelgängers separated by half a century. Rumours of the One Direction singer being tapped to play the Rolling Stones rocker in a biopic were swirling online for years, until Styles set the record straight by confirming he had “never heard anything about the film”. Even so, it’s pretty cle...
