Cash-strapped Barcelona wants Sergio Aguero, David Alaba for free

Barcelona are hoping they can land Sergio Aguero and David Alaba on free transfers this summer after their contracts expire at Manchester City and Bayern Munich respectively. Aguero is expected to depart the Etihad Stadium after 10 years which have seen him become the club’s all-time top goal scorer with 256 goals and lift four Premier League titles in a glittering career. However, injuries have since caught up with the 32-year-old and he has now gone a full year without scoring a Premier League goal at the Etihad. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca see the striker as the ideal No 9 replacement for Luis Suarez, who departed for Atletico Madrid in the summer, in providing a big name signing for supporters. Barca are in desperate financial struggles following the coronavirus outbreak, and t...

Joe Biden Calls For Unity In Inauguration Speech: ‘We Must End This Uncivil War’

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were sworn into the office of the president and vice president of the United States, respectively, on Wednesday (January 20). Shortly after, the new POTUS took the podium outside the U.S. Capitol to address the nation for the first time as its leader, in a speech that again and again stressed unity, togetherness, and healing amid a turbulent time. “My fellow Americans,” Biden began. “This is America’s day. This is democracy’s day, a day of history and hope.” Alex Wong/Getty Images Biden largely stressed unity and healing, amid the rising threat of white supremacy and domestic terrorism, as well as the continued deadliness of COVID-19, which “silently stalks” the nation amid 400,000 deaths in America since last March. She Always Has Time: AOC Checks Bonehead Texas Senator Ted Cruz For Idiotic Paris Climate Agreement Tweet

Source: Tom Williams / Getty AOC always has time to check Ted Cruz on Twitter when he tweets something really dumb. President Joe Biden wasted no time fixing some of the issues that he inherited from Donald Trump. On top of his list of executive orders was to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement immediately. Trump withdrew the United States from the agreement for no good reason except that it’s something our forever president, Barack Obama, agreed to. With Trump pulling the U.S. out, we joined nine countries out of the 197 that signed on to pledge to take steps to reduce their carbon footprints to tackle the issue of climate change. Of the nine countries that didn’t join the Paris Climate Agreement, the U.S. and Iran were the biggest emitters of greenhouse gases. Ted Cruz, who has been deser...

ACF: Attack on Fulani a social upheaval that may destabilise Nigeria

The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has condemned the attack on a Fulani community in the southwest, insisting that such an act was a social upheaval that may destabilize the country. ACF also alleged that security agents did nothing when the attack was carried out. Emmanuel Yawe, National Publicity Secretary, Arewa Consultative Forum, in a statement on Saturday entitled “STOP THE DRIFT IN THE SOUTHWEST”, recalled that the civil war in the 1960’s started with attacks and counter-attacks like the Oyo attack on Fulani. He stated that “this morning, we received reports of an attack by Yoruba Youths on Alhaji Saliu Abdulkadir, the Serki Fulani in Oyo State. In the reports, he was attacked and driven out of his house, eleven cars and his house burnt with his family members now living in the bush...

Zimbabwe loses two more ministers to coronavirus

Two ministers serving in the Zimbabwean government died of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) within a matter of days, prompting the country to announce on Saturday plans to further tighten lockdown measures. Emmanuel Dennis transfer value crashes from €16 million

The value of Club Brugge winger Emmanuel Dennis on the transfer market has crashed from 16 million to 11 million Euros within five months. According to transfermarkt, Dennis was valued at 16 million Euros in August 2020. However, this price tag has tumbled to 11 million Euros now. This crash could well be blamed on the many controversies involving the player as well as his limited appearances for champions Club Brugge this season. His Belgian club had hoped to sell him for between 20 and 25 million Euros last summer. However, none of his interested suitors could match that asking price. The player himself revealed a transfer to Premier League club West Bromwich Albion fell through after he was not granted a work permit.
