Edo APC leaders vow to replace Governor Obaseki during primaries
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state have vowed to replace the incumbent governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, during the primary election of the party, saying no amount of blackmail and intimidation would cow them into submission. LASEMA raises alarm over distressed three-storey building
Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, Friday, raised the alarm, over a distressed building in the state. LASEMA Director-General Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu said the building situated at No 7, Sule Close, Apapa/Iganmu Local Council Development Area of the state, was physically unfit when the attention of the agency was drawn to it. He said the agency’s response team alongside Lagos State Building Control Agency LASBCA, and Lagos State Material Testing Agency will be carrying out a full inspection and additional testing on the building. LASEMA said the results will determine whether the building will be allowed to remain standing or be leveled to ground zero. FRSC tasks Ogun residents to adhere to government’s coronavirus measures
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, on Friday, reiterated the need for residents to adhere strictly to stay-at-home order towards curbing further spread of the novel coronavirus disease. The Sector Commander of the Corps, Mr. Clement Oladele, gave the advice in an interview in Ota, Ogun. The plaintiffs say the case is being filed in France because Soro has been living in the country since 2019. Late last month, he was handed a 20-year jail term in Ivory Coast for embezzlement, money laundering, and buying a mansion in the West African country’s main city Abidjan with public money. The Federal Government said yesterday it has evaluated claims by local researchers that they have manufactured curative drugs for COVID-19. It explained that having met preliminary requirements, the drugs had been forwarded to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, for listing. National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force for COVID-19, Dr. Sani Aliyu, had restated the federal government’s position on Wednesday that no cure had been found for the disease.
