3 Ways COVID-19 has Digitised Education

The introduction of the fourth industrial revolution has already been transforming the education sector over the past two decades, with technology allowing students to access education from anywhere at any time. This, however, has been fast-tracked due to the impact of COVID-19, with institutions having to close their doors to stop the spread. Although it has been an adjustment for both students and teachers, technology is revolutionising education and paving a way towards a better future in learning – according to Dr Andrew Hibling, CEO of EDGE Education. Hibling says that technology is changing education in 3 fundamental ways: how we learn; where and when we learn; and our interaction with learning materials. 1. Leeds beat Derby 3-1, Barnsley score late to keep survival bid alive

Champions Leeds United mounted a second half comeback to win 3-1 at Derby County while Barnsley’s hopes of staying up in the second-tier Championship were given a huge boost when they beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 with a stoppage time goal on Sunday. Leeds, who sealed promotion on Friday and won the title on Saturday after West Bromwich Albion and Brentford failed to close the gap, extended their lead to eight points with one more round of fixtures left. Derby, who gave Leeds a guard of honour, took the lead when Chris Martin pounced on a pass inside the box and curled his shot past the keeper. The visitors struck back two minutes later when Pablo Hernandez fired home from the edge of the box. Tyler Roberts then threaded a weighted pass through the Derby defence to find Jamie Shackleton and t...

Adrien Rabiot: Juventus still on course in Serie A despite blip

Juventus are still on course for this season’s Serie A title despite a blip in form, insists Adrien Rabiot, who says no “catastrophic” damage has been done. Maurizio Sarri’s side are currently sitting top of the Italian top-flight on 77 points, five ahead of second-placed Inter having played a game less. However, the Bianconeri have been fortunate to maintain their lead after a three-match winless run, which began with a 4-2 defeat against Milan at San Siro on July 7. Juve followed up that result with draws against Atalanta and Sassuolo, but Lazio failed to capitalise, losing their last three games to slip down to fourth in the standings. The reigning Italian champions are currently preparing to come up against Lazio in a crunch encounter at the Allianz Stadium on Monday, and Rabiot is con...

Phil Neville blasts Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over poor selection

Former Manchester United star Phil Neville was not pleased with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team selection against Chelsea in the FA Cup. The Red Devils lost 3-1 in the semi final at Wembley after a limp display, and in part due to goalkeeping mistakes from David De Gea. But Neville felt the team selection from manager Solskjaer was a key reason for the loss. The result means Chelsea face Arsenal in the final, while both United and Chelsea have to play the final two Premier League games of their seasons to try and secure a spot in the top four. “I don’t think United had a player on the pitch, maybe [Bruno] Fernandes, that played well,” the former Manchester United player explained on TV. “I think Ole picked the wrong team and the wrong system.” Get more stories like this on Twitter You Deserve ...
