Olusegun Obasanjo’s library sacks many workers
The Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State has sacked lots of workers following downturn caused by the deadly Coronavirus in the country. The library is owned by former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Head of Human Resources, Administration and Procurement, Olanike Ogunleye, in a letter to affected workers, said the development was due to the overwhelming adverse impacts of coronavirus on the organisation. Nasarawa shuts Lafia mass-transit motor park
A Mobile Court sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa state on Saturday, shut down Lafia mass transit motor park for violating environmental sanitation laws. The court also directed operators of an illegal motor park, along the road leading to the palace of the Emir of Lafia to vacate within two weeks. Addressing the court, the prosecutor, Abubakar Mohammed, said that officials of the branch of the Union of Mass Transit and those of the illegal park were operating during the period stipulated for the observance of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in the state. 301 Chinese nationals evacuated from Nigeria
At least 301 Chinese citizens have returned home from Nigeria. The nationals were evacuated on Thursday night through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. Borno State Government has discharged 135 COVID-19 patients. The patients, who initially tested positive for the virus, later tested negative twice upon treatment. Speaking on Friday at the Abba Kyari COVID-19 Isolation Centre in Maiduguri, Deputy Governor, Usman Kadafur, said the state has recorded successes in recent time while commending the efforts of the World Health Organisation and other developmental partners.
