Don Hutchison sends transfer advice to Carlo Ancelotti after 31-yr-old’s display for Everton

Everton battled to a thrilling 3-3 draw against Manchester United away from home in the Premier League last night. The Toffees were 2-0 down in the first half but they managed to mount a sensational come back against the Red Devils. Carlo Ancelotti will be left wondering what could have been if Robin Olsen had not put in an error-prone display for the away side. The Everton keeper was at fault for Scott McTominay’s goal in the second half. He should have kept out the midfielder’s header that gave United a lead on the 70th minute. Ancelotti has had to shuffle between Jordan Pickford and Olsen for the starting berth this season and former player Don Hutchison reckons that the Italian needs to sign a top-class goalkeeper at the end of this season. Couple of things from this. Carlo needs to bu...

Statistical analysis: Finding a better shot-stopper for Everton

Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton have been absolutely resurgent this season. At the time of writing, they are placed in the Europa League spots with a game or two in hand relative to the teams above them in the table. Their summer signings including the likes of James Rodríguez, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucouré have been firing on all cylinders, while old faces such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Lucas Digne have been exceptional as well. Protecting their own net, though, has been a bit of a challenge for the Toffees. No other Premier League side has played fewer games than Everton at the time of writing, yet they only have the eighth-best record in the league when it comes to goals conceded. While their defence has not been particularly solid (they are at the very centre of the ...

Sportslens View The French top-flight side brought in Celtic star Olivier Ntcham instead, and the former Chelsea boss offered to resign the next day after the transfer deadline as a result. Gary Lineker and Jamie Carragher react to West Ham star’s red card

West Ham United were held to a goalless draw against Fulham in the Premier League earlier today. The Hammers will be disappointed to have come away with just a point from a game they should have won. David Moyes’ side have been in impressive form of late and the fans would have expected all three points today. While the draw is likely to disappoint the Hammers’ boss, the referee’s decision to send off Tomas Soucek in the dying moments of the game will have infuriated him. Some Arsenal fans were impressed with the display of Martin Odegaard during the club’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday. The Norwegian joined the Gunners on loan from Real Madrid last month and he has since made two appearances for the club off the bench. One of those came after the hour mark against the Villans where the 22-year-old had a 96 percent pass success rate and delivered some quality passes in the final third. He had one glorious chance to score the equaliser late in the game, but drove his effort over the bar as he was quickly closed down. However, he left a good impression on some of the club’s supporters and a few of them believe the attacker needs to start against Leeds United later this month. Twitter Reactions: If odegaard doesn’t start vs Leeds I have ...

The IWF is entitled, under current regulations, to wait until 30 days before the elections – Febr...
