Koenigsegg has just released a video giving supercar fans a listen to its high-revving engine in the Jesko. As explained by Christian von Koenigsegg himself, the video dives into how the company managed to squeeze 1,600 HP out of the $3 million USD Jesko’s 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The key change in design for the drivetrain is the absence of a flywheel and clutch between the transmission and engine. The Jesko uses a new 9-speed multi-clutch transmission called the “Light Speed Transmission (LST)” and sees small clutches per each gear pair. This results in a 50% shorter transmission than the previous 7-speed dual-clutch, and a new transmission weight of just 198 lbs. BMW is celebrating 50 years of its M division with a range of special treatments that can be applied to various M cars (and M Sport models) within the range. Commencing January 2022, BMW M GmbH will offer customers the choice to spec their car with a classic “BMW Motorsport” logo, decorating the front hood, rear, and wheel hubs. The shifted semicircle logo harks back to 1973, and was frequently used on its racing cars. Just in time for the holidays, Superformance has linked up with Vintage Electric to create an iconic Shelby Cobra EV duo. On the four-wheeled front, the MKIII-E comes fitted with the same rear-drive motor found on the Tesla Model S and boasts 1,500 pound-feet of torque to provide incredible acceleration. Californian startup FORM has unveiled the Camper, otherwise known as a conceptual take on turning the yet-to-release Tesla Cybertruck into a campervan. This modular design is comprised of a free-standing awning, if you will, that connects to the rear bed of the Elon Musk-designed electric truck, and interestingly, it’s also compatible with other trucks such as the Ford F-150 or the Chevrolet Silverado. Regardless, it comes in at just 1,000 lbs and is aerodynamically designed for minimal amounts of drag so that it won’t drain the Cybertruck’s range.
