DRIVERS: Nick Cheung and His 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage S

DRIVERS is a series highlighting influential individuals in the HYPEBEAST sphere and their passion towards all things automotive. The approach is simple: what is car culture to you, and why do you have a passion for it? Each contributor is given a chance to shine light on their personal vehicle or vehicles, and asked to remark on how they are driving culture forward, both metaphorically and literally. For our latest iteration of DRIVERS, we head to Vancouver, British Columbia, to highlight someone a bit more behind the scenes of our everyday-hyped world. Canadian Nick Cheung is the director of operations/digital lead for SNEAKERBOX, a local footwear/fashion retailer in Canada that has made its space into a stronghold staple for sneakerheads – think Darkside Initiative in San Francisco, Pat...

This Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package Just Sold for $1.6M USD

As the Lexus LFA approaches its tenth birthday, it seems that numerous examples are starting to appear on the second-hand resell market — such as this 2012 example that sold for $808,000 USD just last month — and now another, even rarer example has sold through RM Sotheby’s for $1.6m USD. The one you see above is an LFA Nürburgring Package, meaning it’s just one of 64 built (of which 25 were sold in the U.S.A.), making it a rare modern classic from the Japanese brand. Finished in a very clean black-over-black colorway, the Nürburgring Package adds lightweight magnesium BBS rims and plenty of carbon fiber exterior components, from a revised front splitter to a huge rear wing and canards on the nose, which come together to improve downforce but subsequently reduce top...

fostla.de concepts Has Transformed the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S-Based Brabus 800

Brabus and Mercedes-AMG‘s partnership is one of the most extensive in the entire automotive industry, and rarely do third parties get to join in on the power-hungry team up, but this is exactly what has happened with the fostla.de concepts x Brabus Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S. Having previously debuted its take on the GT 63 S as both the Brabus 800 and the Rocket 900 “One of Ten,” this car is nothing new per se. It comes with a tuned version of the four-liter bi-turbo V8 to produce 800 HP and torque that’s electronically limited  to 1,000 Nm, which sends the 2.1-tonne car to 62 MPH in just 2.9 seconds before hitting a v-max of 195 MPH. Where fostla.de concepts comes in is through the means of customization. By applying a wrap, the Brabus 800 sports a color that is seldom s...

Subaru Refreshes Forester Crossover With More Aggressive Look

Japanese automaker Subaru has given its Forester a more aggressive makeover, creating a sportier look for the more adventurous drivers out there. With most of the changes made to the front end of the crossover, Subaru has tweaked the shaping of the headlights to be more squared and angular, paired aggressively with DRL brows that link up with a completely redesigned, rugged grille for a truly offroad look. Sitting beneath these modifications are two elevated “cheekbones” extending above the fog lamps and their bumper-integrated housing, all complementing the car’s sportier aesthetic. Unfortunately, the current revamped Subaru Forester will only be a Japan-exclusive, but North America will be receiving its own Forester Wilderness shortly after and Autoblog suggests that th...

Aston Martin Celebrates its New DBX SUV with Special Short Film

Aston Martin‘s new DBX SUV is a feat of British engineering, one that brings the power, speed and responsiveness of a sports car to the world of sport utility vehicles. To celebrate the DBX’s launch, Aston Martin has tapped Oscar-nominated Italian director Luca Guadagnino and assembled an all-star crew of British creatives for a short film that shows the car’s mixture of luxury and strength. Clocking in at exactly four minutes, the short film stars Josh O’Connor — recently seen playing Prince Charles in The Crown — and was art directed by legendary British tastemaker Peter Saville. The score was provided by Devonté Hynes, also known as Blood Orange. Filmed in Sicily, it shows O’Connor driving a “Minotaur Green” DBX with a light ivory interior, driving th...

All 112 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 Supercars Have Been Sold

All 112 units of the 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 have been sold. Priced at approximately $2.64 million USD each, substantially more than the Aventador S’ $400,000 USD price tag, many wealthy collectors were drawn to the supercar‘s 50th-anniversary status and relatively low production numbers. Packing the same 780hp 6.5-liter V12 + 34hp electric motor setup as the Sián FKP 37, the AWD Countach LPI 800-4 is roughly 23 percent more than the Sián. While many could argue exclusivity for the all-new Countach, at 112 examples, the Sián beats the Countach in this aspect as there were only 63 made. There’s just something about the Countach that continues to drive the automotive world crazy. It’s a supercar name that’s existed through numerous generations, and t...

Another day, another customized Mercedes-AMG G63. This time around, the car’s been overhauled by Afzal Kahn‘s eponymously named Project Kahn (also referred to as Kahn Design), and the firm has given the G-Wagon quite the reworking indeed. Dubbed the “Carbon Wide Track Edition,” this G63 combines traditional elements of the square SUV while introducing new lightweight components for an even sportier edge. For example, this “Classic Grey” example is accentuated with widened front and rear wings, a carbon bonnet overlay, lower bumper spoiler, a new front grille, a duo of rear roof spoilers, and a roof shield, which come together to make the G63 stand out even more than it already does in stock mode. Alongside this, you’ll find 23″ Kahn “Ty...
