Mercedes-Benz is leaning into the EV market with its forthcoming network of EV charging hubs. The company announced its plans to launch the network in the fourth quarter of 2023, but its chargers won’t be like any other of its kind.Describing the stations as “high-power,” each hub will be capable of delivering up to 400 kW, more than any other charger in the US currently offers. To avoid damaging the vehicle, however, a car will only be charged up to its own maximum power rating.The first of Mercedes-Benz’s hubs will be built in the company’s home city of Atlanta, Georgia, along with Chengdu, China and Mannheim, Germany. Porsche has announced its 2024 Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, set to be released in both SUV and Coupe body styles. The vehicle marks the automaker's most powerful Cayenne yet, producing just over 729 horsepower via its plug-in hybrid powertrain.The electric motor contributes 174 hp, while a revamped 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine delivers 591 hp, enabling an impressive 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 183 mph -- likely capped by an internal limiter.Horsepower isn't the only upgrade, the new Cayenne E-Hybrid also boasts an expanded high-voltage battery of 25.9 kWh, discreetly placed under the trunk area.
