Eli Roth has officially released the first teaser trailer for Ice Cream Man, bringing his signature brand of splatter-soaked horror back to the big screen. Produced through his newly launched independent label, The Horror Section, the highly anticipated slasher promises an unrated theatrical event that pushes the boundaries of his previous gore-focused catalog.
Based on an idea Roth has developed for over two decades, the film centers on a picturesque summer town where innocence quickly curdles into violence. The narrative follows a mysterious and seemingly cheerful ice cream vendor—played by Ari Millen—who begins serving sugary delights that trigger the town’s children to transform into deranged, bloodthirsty predators. Early drafts of the script were reportedly deemed too intense for major studios, prompting Roth to maintain full creative control and independently produce what he describes as his “most terrifying and insane film to date.”
The project reunites Roth with longtime co-writer Noah Belson and features a supporting cast that includes Benjamin Byron Davis, Karen Cliche, Dylan Hawco, and Sarah Abbott. Further cementing its cultural footprint, the film features an original score from Emmy-winning composer Brandon Roberts with additional music provided by Snoop Dogg. Legendary rapper Nas is also attached to the project, stepping in to serve as an executive producer alongside Media Capital Technologies.
Ice Cream Man drops in theaters on August 7, 2026.
