Ferrari Slates First-Ever Production Luce EV "Chassis 0" for Historic Charity Auction

Ferrari has assigned its very first production electric vehicle to RM Sotheby’s for a no-reserve charity auction

Designated as Chassis 0, the custom build features a one-of-one Madreperla Semilucida pearlescent paint finish

All proceeds from the high-profile sale will directly fund the Ferrari Foundation’s educational initiatives

Ferrari has officially consigned its highly anticipated, first-ever production electric vehicle, the Ferrari Luce “Chassis 0”, to a high-profile charity auction. The historic one-of-one build is heading straight to RM Sotheby’s prestigious Monterey Car Week sale, turning Maranello’s electric future into an instant collector’s piece before standard customer deliveries even commence.

Co-designed in collaboration with Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson’s creative collective, LoveFrom, the Luce marks a radical aesthetic and mechanical departure for the Italian carmaker. Underneath its futuristic, architectural shell sits a potent all-electric powertrain driven by four independent electric motors that combine to produce a staggering 1,050 horsepower. This setup propels the five-seat vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, utilizing a structural 122 kWh battery pack and a patented acoustic system that amplifies authentic mechanical vibrations rather than fabricating artificial engine notes.

To maximize its collectability, Ferrari’s Tailor Made department outfitted Chassis 0 with an exclusive Madreperla Semilucida paint finish, which displays shifting green and violet highlights depending on the angle of light. The premium cabin mirrors this light-shifting theme, swapping traditional black components for white and blue accents, Swiss-sourced Le Mans leather in Perla, and custom Grigio Corvara secondary elements.

The Ferrari Luce “Chassis 0” drops between August 13 and August 15, 2026, via RM Sotheby’s at Monterey Car Week.
