Justin Bieber has officially joined the lineup for the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, adding another global superstar to an already packed bill set to take place during the championship match on July 19th at New York New Jersey Stadium (aka MetLife).
The pop star will co-headline the 11-minute performance alongside Madonna, Shakira, and BTS in what FIFA and Global Citizen are billing as the first halftime show in FIFA World Cup history. FIFA also unveiled several additional performers, including Burna Boy, acclaimed conductor Gustavo Dudamel, New York’s PS22 Chorus, and Coldplay. The halftime show has been curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin as part of his ongoing role with Global Citizen, helping assemble the inaugural lineup.
The performance will air live during the tournament final and is expected to become one of the most-watched musical broadcasts ever. For comparison, the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final between Argentina and France reached an estimated 1.5 billion viewers worldwide, far outpacing the Super Bowl’s typically US-centric audience. This year’s Super Bowl drew 125.6 million average viewers in the US.

“I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world,” Bieber said in a statement.
The halftime show is designed to spotlight the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a joint initiative aiming to raise $100 million to expand access to education and football opportunities for children worldwide. According to the organizations, more than $50 million has already been raised, with $1 from every ticket sold to FIFA World Cup 2026 matches contributing to the campaign throughout the tournament.
Other newly announced performers include Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, New York’s PS22 Chorus, and Coldplay, whose frontman Chris Martin curated the halftime production. Characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets, including Kermit and Miss Piggy, will also make appearances.
“This is the single largest gathering of artists united for a cause since Live Aid, and it could well be the most-watched 11 minutes of broadcast music performance in history,” said Co-Founder and CEO of Global Citizen Hugh Evans.
The announcement arrives as the 2026 FIFA World Cup enters its final stretch. The quarterfinals begin Thursday with France taking on Morocco, followed by Spain vs. Belgium on Friday and Norway vs. England and Argentina vs. Switzerland on Saturday. The winners will advance to next week’s semifinals before the tournament culminates with the championship match – and FIFA’s first-ever halftime show – on July 19th.
