Man Falls to His Death at Oasis Concert in Wembley Stadium

A 40-year-old man fell to his death during Oasis’ concert at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday night (August 2nd).

According to The Guardian, the fan fell from an upper tier section of the 90,000-person capacity stadium shortly after 10 p.m. local time. A police statement confirmed he “was found with injuries consistent with a fall. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”

A representative for Wembley stadium added in a statement: “Last night, Wembley Stadium medics, the London ambulance service and the police attended to a concertgoer who was found with injuries consistent with a fall. Despite their efforts, the fan very sadly died. Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers.”

The reunited Oasis are in the midst of their first tour in 16 years, and last night’s show was the fourth of five concerts at Wembley Stadium. At the first Wembley gig on July 25th, the band paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who had passed away three days earlier.

Later this month, Oasis will launch the North American leg of their reunion tour with a two-night stand in Toronto on August 24th and 25th.

Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the man who died at the Oasis concert on Saturday.
