Marvel Studios has officially unveiled the highly anticipated first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. Premiered exclusively to attendees at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, the upcoming cinematic event promises to reshape the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Anthony and Joe Russo returning to the director’s chair, the film sets the stage for a massive crossover that intermixes Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and the Thunderbolts.
As per Variety, the footage reportedly opens with a first look at Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor von Doom as he prepares to invade the multiverse. Wearing his signature green hood and metallic mask, the villain speaks with a heavy British accent, making Downey nearly unrecognizable in the new role. Emphasizing his formidable threat level, the trailer features a scene where Thor attempts to strike Doom, only for the antagonist to catch the magical hammer Mjolnir with his bare hands.
Beyond Doctor Doom’s introduction, the trailer teases an unprecedented collision of franchises. Action sequences include a battle between Channing Tatum’s Gambit and Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, as well as Mystique transforming into Yelena Belova for a fight against Florence Pugh’s character. The teaser also delivers a major shock by revealing the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, who reunites with an astonished Thor.
Stay tuned for a wider release of the trailer. Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters worldwide on December 18.
