George Damian in his tweet says that Obasanjo was gifted the president seat base on tribal sentiment.

He said:

Power was gifted to Obasanjo and the Yorubas in 1999 based on ethnic sentiments, they didn’t build any gaddam bridge, they didn’t negotiate nor formed allience with anybody.

Reacting to the tweet, Segalink said:

There’s a lot you need to learn about politics unfortunately we no longer teach history in schools. Obasanjo wasn’t gifted power but handed a responsibility being one of the class of 66 (Military Clearing House) to restore hope after the military interregnum. There’s no free meal
