Paul McCartney Talks About Origins of New Album with Actor Paul Mescal

Paul McCartney discussed the roots of his upcoming album The Boys of Dungeon Lane with actor Paul Mescal in a short film streaming Monday, May 25th through Amazon.

The Boys of Dungeon Lane: In Conversation with Paul McCartney & Paul Mescal premiered on Amazon Live and the Amazon Music app.

The film is centered around “an intimate conversation” between McCartney and Mescal that explores the memories, relationships, events, and stories that inspired and shaped the upcoming album.

New songs, “Down South,” “Home to Us,” a duet with Ringo Starr, “Lost Horizon,” “Salesman Saint,” and “Days We Left Behind” from The Boys of Dungeon Lane “are brought to life via revelations about McCartney’s songwriting, early memories of his parents and bandmates and more,” a news release said.

McCartney’s new album will be released Friday, May 29th and promises to be “his most introspective album to date,” and one that “takes the listener back to where it all began.”

McCartney recently helped Stephen Colbert wrap up The Late Show with a performance in the very room where The Beatles played The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9th, 1964.

Mescal will play McCartney in director Sam Mendes’ biopics The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event scheduled for release in 2027. Each of the quartet of films will focus on one member of the band.
