‘Peaky Blinders’ Sets Release Date for Sixth and Final Season

‘Peaky Blinders’ Sets Release Date for Sixth and Final Season

Peaky Blinders is set to return for its sixth and final season on February 27 at 9 p.m. GMT on BBC One, with new episodes arriving every Sunday. The premiere date was revealed on Tuesday morning via a 42-foot high mural in Birmingham.

Cillian Murphy returns in his leading role as Tommy Shelby, alongside Tom Hardy, Paul Anderson, Finn Cole, Anya Taylor-Joy and Sophie Rundle, among others, while Stephen Graham will also star. Murphy’s co-star, Helen McRory, passed away in April of last year and will not appear in the final season.

Peaky is back and with a bang,” creator and writer Steven Knight previously said of the upcoming season. “After the enforced production delay due to the Covid pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher. We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.”

Following the show’s premiere on BBC One, Peaky Blinders will land on Netflix for viewers outside the UK on an undisclosed date. In season’s past, the series has landed on Netflix following the original UK run.

Peaky Blinders season six is helmed by Anthony Byrne based on a script written by Knight. Caryn Mandabach, Jamie Glazebrook, David Mason, Knight, Byrne and Murphy executive produce.

Elsewhere in entertainment, season two of Bridgerton has received its first official teaser.
