PDP warns against plot to foist emergency rule in Rivers

The party said it has been informed of plots by such power hungry politicians to sponsor their misguided youth to unleash violence and unrest in certain parts of the state to create an impression of security breakdown so as to validate their plot for imposition of emergency rule in the state. Timipre Sylva wants Bayelsa APC members to remain strong

The Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, on Monday, advised members of the party in the state to remain strong and steadfast. Sylva gave the advice in a statement in Yenagoa, issued by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Mr Doifie Buokoribo. “Despite the troubling times in which we are all living in, APC members and supporters in the state must not lose hope,” he said. Adams Oshiomhole swears in Waziri Bulama as APC acting national secretary

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, on Monday, swore in Waziri Bulama as acting National Secretary of the party. This is coming a few months after a crisis within the party’s ranks almost cost Oshiomhole his position. The Deputy National Secretary, Victor Giadom, had laid claim to the position after an Abuja High Court earlier granted an interim injunction restraining Oshiomhole from parading himself as national chairman. A truce was reached following the intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. PDP rejects N108 ex-depot fuel price, insist on N70 pump price

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has rejected the new ex-depot price of N108 per litre of the Premium Motor Spirit insisting on a new pricing template that must accommodate a pump price of between N60 to N70 per litre to reflect the crash in the price of crude oil and petroleum products in the international market. The party described the N108 ex-depot price as fraudulent and a far cry from the appropriate pump price template that should not exceed N70 given the prevailing situation in the international oil market.
