PDP to commence e-registration for new members
The Peoples Democratic Party has announced its readiness to commence nationwide online registration for members. The Party made this known on Monday in a statement titled ‘Obaseki urges Nigerians to embrace PDP e-registration exercise’, signed by the Publicity Sub-committee Chairman of the PDP National E-Registration Committee, Kola Ologbondiyan. According to the statement, the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has urged Nigerians to participate in the exercise. Mr Hillary Ugochukwu, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ugochukwu, a former senatorial aspirant of the party, announced his defection at a reception organised in his honour by the state leaders of the APC in Owerri on Saturday. Ugochukwu lauded Gov. The Senate on Thursday started the screening of nominees for appointment as National Commissioners for the Independent National Electoral Commission. Mass defection: House member asks PDP national chairman to resign
Rep Rimamnde Shawulu (PDP-Taraba), has urged the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Uche Secondus, to resign following mass defection from the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Supreme Court has dismissed the People’s Democratic Party, PDP’s appeal, seeking to disqualify Senator Adetokunbo Abiru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from continuing to represent the Lagos East Senatorial District. It upheld the argument of Kemi Pinheiro, (SAN) for Abiru and Abiodun Owonikoko (SAN) for APC that the appeal lacked merit. The court also awarded a cost of N1 million against the appellants – PDP and its candidate, Babatunde Gbadamosi, in favour of each of the respondents, Abiru and the APC. Police escort, driver of APC chieftain shot dead in Delta
The police escort and driver of an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Delta state, Chief Michael Johnny, were killed on Sunday by gunmen in an attempted kidnap attack at Airport Junction, Uvwie council area of Delta state.
