As a grocery store pop rocker with a tummy tattoo, Adam Levine is very much qualified to comment on both heavy metal and how people look. And as he sees it, “no hot chicks” listen to heavy metal. The Maroon 5 singer came into the news earlier this week when Instagram model Sumner Stroh revealed messages between the two, implying they had an affair (Levine even allegedly asked for her permission to name his unborn child Sumner). After Stroh came forward, other women followed, sharing screenshots and screen recordings of their messages with the artist. It was in Instagram messages with Alyson Rosef that Levine opined about the fan demographics of metal. Alice Glass Has Her “Lips Apart” on New Single: Stream
In the midst of her North American tour, Alice Glass has shared a new one-off single called “Lips Apart.” The new track arrives over half a year after Glass delivered her solo debut full-length, PREY//IV. “Lips Apart” is haunting and sweeping, relatively minimalist over a thudding, industrial beat and creeping electronics. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ fabled 20-show run at San Francisco’s Fillmore in 1997 is the subject of a new deluxe box set coming on November 25th. Live at the Fillmore (1997) is being put out by Warner Records in collaboration with Petty’s estate and Mike Campbell. It marks the first Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers live album to be released in 13 years. Various configurations of Live at the Fillmore (1997) will be available, including a 3xLP version simulating one of the concerts and a comprehensive box set comprised of 58 songs and 14 humorous spoken word tracks. Steel Panther Announce New Bassist Ahead of Fall 2022 North American Tour
Steel Panther have announced their new bassist and a short fall 2022 North American tour. The musician known as Spyder will take over permanent bass duties for the pseudo-parody glam metal act, replacing longtime bassist Lexxi Foxxx, aka Travis Haley, who left the group in 2021. The band’s press announcement declares Spyder “the chocolate to Steel Panther’s peanut butter,” and it’s been a smooth transition for Lexxi’s replacement so far. Sypder first played live with Steel Panther in 2018 and then filled in during a five-week European tour this summer.
