Primavera Sound LA 2022 Photo Gallery: Arctic Monkeys, Lorde, Nine Inch Nails, and More
This past weekend (September 16th-18th), Primavera Sound held its inaugural Los Angeles edition at L.A. State Historic Park. Featuring heavy-hitting headlining sets from Arctic Monkeys, Lorde, and Nine Inch Nails, the weekend proved to be a successful American translation of the iconic festival. Amazing sets didn’t stop at the headliners, though, as the festival’s deep lineup did not disappoint. Notable sets came from acts like Arca, Mitski, Clairo, Fontaines DC, Tierra Whack, and Stereolab, as well as Faye Webster, James Blake, Mayhem, and Squid. Metallica Announce 2022 “Helping Hands” Benefit Concert in Los Angeles
Metallica have announced their third-ever “Helping Hands” benefit concert and auction. Featuring performances by Metallica and “special guests,” the show and auction are set for December 16th at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The third iteration of the “Helping Hands Concert and Auction” follows a remote livestream benefit show back in November 2020. All proceeds from the event — tickets, fees, and auction items — will “go directly to help those in need.” Previously, the 2020 livestream raised funds for partners at Feeding America and the American Association of Community Colleges, as well as various COVID and disaster relief efforts via Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation. UK Channel Airs The Emoji Movie Instead of Queen’s Funeral
Almost all of the major British networks — and even some X-rated channels — paused their regularly scheduled programming on Monday, September 19th to air Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, but one exception was Channel 5, which offered a rather unique form of counterprogramming with The Emoji Movie. Arlo Parks Cancels US Tour Dates Due to “Debilitating” Mental Health
Arlo Parks has canceled a series of US tour dates in order to return home to London and focus on her “debilitating” mental health. “I’ve been on the road on and off for the last 18 months, filling every spare second in between and working myself to the bone,” Parks wrote in a statement. “It was exciting and I was eager to grind and show everyone what I was capable of, how grateful I was to be where I am today. Ezra Miller Believed They Were “The Next Messiah,” Would “Lead An Indigenous Revolution”
More details have emerged about Ezra Miller’s troubling behavior, with a new report revealing that The Flash actor’s patterned “ebb and flow relationship with mental health” and alleged bouts with “illusions of grandeur” escalated to the point of believing to be “the next Messiah.” The report from Vanity Fair examines the tenuous history of Miller’s mental health crises through the experiences of over a dozen close contacts, who referred to their time with the actor as a “nonconsensual emotional BDSM relationship” and “every interaction with Ezra is an altercation.” Some sources suggest the actor first began to spiral following their parent’s divorce in 2019, but others point to the initial fan-choking incident in Iceland in April 2020. Post Malone Injures Ribs After Falling On Stage, But Finishes Concert
Post Malone received medical attention after taking a hard fall on stage during his concert in St. Louis on Saturday night. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Malone was performing “circles” when he tripped into an uncovered hole that had been used to lower equipment below the stage. He landed on his ribcage and laid on the stage for several minutes as medics attended to him. The rapper was eventually able to stand up and walk off the stage with assistance, but told the crowd that he would return.
