Aqua Teen Hunger Force returns this November with the movie Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm, and Run the Jewels contributed the opening theme to the film with the appropriately titled “Opening Theme.” Listen to the duo’s new track below. Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm sees our beloved Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad reunite with their neighbor Carl to fight the corporate overlord Amazin, and Run the Jewels support the team by lending their classic sound to the fight song. “Master Shake will make you meet your maker,” El-P raps over glitchy synths. In the chorus, he and Killer Mike repeat a simple command: “Get money.” Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm hits shelves and streaming services on November 8th. Written and directed by original Aqua Teen Hunger Force creato...
Everyone’s favorite Halloween store is becoming a movie. Watch the full trailer for Spirit Halloween: The Movie below. Spirit Halloween: The Movie looks like one of those classic ’80s tween horror films, where a group of young boys ride their bikes through a lush fall wonderland in order to get up to some unsupervised trouble. Written by Billie Bates and directed by David Poag, the film follows a group of middle school friends (Donovan Colan, Jaiden J. Smith, and Dylan Martin Frankel) who resolve to spend the night in the newly opened Spirit Halloween because they think they’ve outgrown trick-or-treating. Of course, once the store closes, they realize it’s haunted, and the spirit in question possesses the shop’s animatronics in an attempt to seize them. Christopher Lloyd, Rachael Leig...

Ahead of their new project CYBERKISS*, BLACKSTARKIDS have shared “CYBERKISS 2 U*,” a new track featuring their Dirty Hit labelmate beabadoobee. Listen to the single below. Where last month’s “SEX APPEAL” was all swaggering hip-hop, “CYBERKISS 2 U*” leans more into hyperpop, with BLACKSTARKIDS and beabadoobee’s vocals tuned up chipmunk style over a saccharine electronic melody. “Takes me back, when you said I can make you better,” they sing. “You make me feel good, I hope I feel this way forever.” “We were inspired by electronic and colorful music from our childhood like Daft Punk and Jamiroquai,” BLACKSTARKIDS said in a statement about the track. “Also New York culture in general, the scene that kids have going on down there played a big role in how we wanted our music to sound. Worki...
Post Malone, who might’ve been the world’s greatest grunge singer if he hadn’t first become a stinking rich pop star, has shared another portal to that alternate reality. His social media accounts unveiled a clip of him covering Pearl Jam’s version of “Last Kiss,” itself a cover of Wayne Cochran’s 1961 original. The acoustic set took place earlier this year in Rome, Italy, and the singer promises that there’s a “full show coming soon.” As he did earlier this year when covering “Better Man” on The Howard Stern Show, Posty tries to Vedder himself, aping some of the Pearl Jam frontman’s mannerisms including the way he pronounces ‘r’ in “world.” Check out the 23-second clip below. Post Malone has plenty of dates remaining on his North American tour, and next year he’ll hit up Ne...

Brittney Parks might be the only artist who can use the phrases “step inside my cottage” and “only bad bitches” in the same verse. The multi-hyphenate alt-R&B musician — better known as Sudan Archives, our September Artist of the Month — uses both of them effortlessly in “Home Maker,” the opening track to her multifarious new album Natural Brown Prom Queen. At once, she paints herself as both the modern hot girl and a timeless Aphrodite. “Home Maker” is a fitting mission statement to Natural Brown Prom Queen, a record that luxuriates in introversion, creature comforts, and the freedom allotted by the places you feel most safe. “Don’t you feel at home when you’re with me?” she repeats in the bridge. There’s a bit of a come-hither wink to it, but also an edge. Rather than playing into th...
For all the havoc he wreaks on Gotham, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the Joker. DC’s comic book series Flashpoint Beyond has divulged some crucial info, however, finally unveiling his very familiar-sounding name: Jack White. In issue #5 of Flashpoint Beyond — a sequel to 2011’s DC-universe-altering Flashpoint — Bruce Wayne’s father, Thomas Wayne (this universe’s Batman), heads to Arkham Asylum to meet with his estranged, incarcerated wife Martha (this universe’s Joker). Martha tells Thomas that she forced Psycho-Pirate, a villain notable for having extensive knowledge of the multiverse, to reveal everything he knew about the main DC Universe timeline, including the Joker’s real name — which, of course, he shares with the former White Stripes frontman. Tha...
Eminem revisited his 2007 accidental overdose on methadone while appearing on the latest episode of his longtime manager Paul Rosenberg’s podcast Paul Pod, opening up about the process of “relearning how to rap.” “I remember when I first got sober and all the shit was out of my system, I remember just being, like, really happy and everything was fucking new to me again,” Em recalled about working on his 2009 comeback album Relapse. “It was the first album and the first one that I had fun recording in a long time.” However, the Detroit MC first had to retrain himself in his longtime craft. “It was like the first time I started having fun with music again and relearning how to rap,” he said. “You remember that whole process, [it] took a long time for my brain to start working again.” Adverti...
If you’ve done any TikTok scrolling in the past couple of months, you’ve almost certainly heard the infectious Steve Lacy single “Bad Habit.” Now, Wet Leg have caught the bug, putting their own spin on the hit for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge series. Lacy’s original “Bad Habit” appears on his recent album Gemini Rights. While it’s more of a sultry, funky slow jam, Wet Leg kick things up a notch. Here, the tempo has nearly doubled as the Isle of Wight band’s frenetic guitars backdrop their characteristically deadpan vocal delivery. With breakneck hi-hats anchoring the tune, “Bad Habit” works just as a post-punk ripper just as well as Lacy’s R&B earworm. Check out Wet Leg’s cover below. Wet Leg recently scored the gig of a lifetime opening for UK and EU dates on Harry Styles’ “Lov...
Brian Eno has shared “We Let It In,” the latest preview of his upcoming solo album, FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE. Featuring backing vocals from his daughter Darla Eno, “We Let It In” follows in the footsteps of the first single “There Were Bells” by continuing to address the global climate emergency. As Darla Eno alternates between chanting the words “sun” and “deep,” Brian Eno sings in a lowered delivery reflecting the morose subject matter: “We open to the blinding sky and let it in/ With open hearts through burning fields/ The soul of it in gorgeous flame.” The accompanying lyric video was co-directed by Eno with London-based multidisciplinary artist Orfeo Tagiuri and features handwriting by Eno’s granddaughter Anya. Watch it below. Advertisement Related Video “It’s become a different...
