Deftones have announced the lineup for their annual Dia de Los Deftones festival, which is set to take place November 5th at Gallagher Square at Petco Park in San Diego, California. Joining the alt-metal veterans on the bill this year are Turnstile, Phantogram, Freddie Gibbs, and more. Actor Dev Patel reportedly intervened in a knife fight in Australia on Monday, August 1st, and played the part to perfection with his selfless and potentially lifesaving act. According to local Australian affiliate 7News, the skirmish took place in Patel’s current hometown of Adelaide when a man and woman began fighting in the streets of the city’s business district. Patel witnessed the altercation already in progress from a nearby convenience store and was amongst a group of witnesses who were able to successfully intercede. “All Hell Breaks Loose” in Official Trailer for Atlanta’s Final Season: Watch
Donald Glover’s award-winning series Atlanta will conclude with the fourth and final season, and as the new official trailer promises, “All hell breaks loose.” Season 4 debuts September 15th on FX. Hatebreed are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album Perseverance with a Fall 2022 US headlining tour. Chris Rock’s busy year continues: Today, MTV Studios announced that they’ve granted a straight-to-series order for Everybody Still Hates Chris, an animated revival of Rock’s popular oughts sitcom Everybody Hates Chris. Like its predecessor, Everybody Still Hates Chris is largely inspired by Rock’s own memories of growing up as a hapless, dorky teenager from a working-class family in 1980s Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Beyoncé Removes Kelis Interpolation from Renaissance Track “Energy”
After Kelis called her out for using her song “Milkshake” without permission, Beyoncé has removed the interpolation from Renaissance. The Renaissance song “Energy” contains the interpolation of “Milkshake;” notably, Bey sings a spin on the song’s classic “la la, la la la” hook toward the end of the track. While Beyoncé credited Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, the official writers and producers of “Milkshake,” Kelis expressed frustration for not being contacted about the interpolation as a common courtesy. Now, Rolling Stone reports that the interpolation has been removed from “Energy” as it appears on streaming services, including Apple Music and Tidal. Woman Falls to Her Death at Kenny Chesney Concert
A woman fell from an escalator to her death at the end of a July 30th Kenny Chesney concert in Denver, The Denver Post reports. Chesney was performing at Empower Field at Mile High when a woman who was sitting on the railing of an escalator fell to the concourse below and died of her injuries, Denver police said. The incident happened at about 10:52 p.m local time. Police spokesman Nate Magee said the woman’s death was being investigated as an accident. Magee said he did not know whether alcohol was a factor in the fall, but based on witness reports, he did not believe the woman was pushed or jostled.
