Joe Rogan is a one-man shitstorm of misinformation, but since he is also the world’s most popular podcast host, being a well-informed citizen means occasionally checking which way the shit is blowing. At the moment he’s aiming the excrement at Donald Trump, saying in a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience that the former president is a “man-baby” who can hardly read without Adderall. Via The Daily Beast, the segment was led by Tom Segura, who wondered at Trump being “full of fucking energy” when he supposedly only slept four hours a night. “He’s on Adderall,” Rogan responded. “Do you think he’s on Adderall? “Yes, I do, only because there were multiple people who used to work on The Apprentice that were like, ‘He was fucking gassed up for shoots,R...
Desus & Mero have broken up and ended their popular Showtime talk show. Showtime confirmed the news in a statement, saying, “Desus Nice and The Kid Mero will be pursuing separate creative endeavors moving forward. Showtime’s late-night talk show Desus & Mero will not be returning for a fifth season. Its final episode aired Thursday, June 23rd.” Desus Nice addressed the end of the talk show on Twitter with a cordial statement (“thanks for being part of the journey”), but social media posts from both comedians suggest Desus and Mero had a falling out of some sort. Related Video On June 19th, Desus tweeted, “bodegahive you think I abandoned y’all but the art is coming back. Plz believe in me, I love y’all,” prompting Mero to respond on Reddit, “NAH IT’S A WRAP BRODY, SOMEBOD...
Marcus Mumford unveiled his first solo single, “Cannibal,” last week, but what he didn’t mention at the time was that the accompanying black-and-white visuals had been directed by none other than Steven Spielberg making his music video debut. “On Sunday 3rd July in a high school gym in New York, Steven Spielberg directed his first music video, in one shot, on his phone,” Mumford wrote on social media. He added that Kate Capshaw, who starred as Willie Scott in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and has played the role of Spielberg’s wife since 1991, served as “the almighty dolly grip.” Meanwhile, Mumford’s famous girlfriend Carey Mulligan worked as “Costumer/Sound.” The video itself was filmed with Spielberg holding his phone as Capshaw rolled him backwards on a swivel chai...
A demo of Lou Reed’s Velvet Underground epic “Heroin” has been unleashed from the upcoming archival album Words & Music, May 1965. Remastered from an unearthed tape that established the singer-songwriter’s copyright for the composition, it is thought to be the song’s earliest recording. The fuzzy, finger-picked take follows an acoustic folk style similar to the new collection’s initial offering, “I’m Waiting for the Man.” Unlike its predecessor though, which came “nearly complete, with minor changes made in the final arrangement,” “Heroin” seems to have undergone several substantial changes before its visceral debut on 1967’s The Velvet Underground & Nico. Reed is also joined by fellow Velvet Underground member John Cale for the song’s first recorded runthrough. Stream it below. Wo...
No, ma’am, not today. Eddie Vedder was having none of a fan’s violent behavior during Pearl Jam’s recent concert in Zurich and promptly kicked the woman out of the venue. Fans caught the moment on video inside Hallenstadion Zurich when the woman in question apparently started hitting the man in front of her over the head for filming the band’s performance of “Animal.” “Turn the lights on, please,” Vedder asked the stage crew after pausing the song. “Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey — I saw the whole thing! I know, it was annoying you. You were bummed out ‘cause he was filming the whole time. Has it been the whole show or just now? Just now when I came over? Was it the whole time? Yeah, you film like everyone.” Advertisement Related Video The rock legend continued: “The thing is, I know it upse...
Lil Uzi Vert took to social media over the weekend to quietly change their pronouns to they/them. The update can be seen right next to Lil Uzi Vert’s name on their Instagram profile, which also reads, “Endless Venim…Kawaii girls think I’m cool…Red & White = P!NK” along with a litany of emojis littered between the phrases. Historically, Lil Uzi Vert has a longstanding track record of support for the LGBTQ+ community. While remaining decidedly cryptic about their own sexual orientation, the rapper has repeatedly challenged the norms of hip-hop culture by playing with the notions of gendered clothing and donned rainbow-inspired outfits during Pride Month. Taylor Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) broke streaming records and gifted us with the instant classic “All Too Well (10-Minute Version),” but for all of its updates, it wasn’t clear if the re-recorded album would be eligible for a Grammy. However, Billboard confirms that it does meet the Recording Academy’s nomination requirements. According to the Academy’s “rules and guidelines” handbook, “Updated, revised or expanded versions of previously submitted albums will not be eligible” for Grammy Awards. However, the organization told Billboard that Red (Taylor’s Version) will be eligible for consideration “as it is a new recording.” This means that if Swift’s re-recorded LP is nominated for, say, Album of the Year (as the original was back in 2012), it would be her fift...
