Travis Scott Resurfaces on Southside and Future Collab “Hold That Heat”: Stream

Save for owners of Kanye West’s Stem Player, fans haven’t heard new music from Travis Scott since the November 2021 tragedy at Astroworld. Today, the Houston rapper has resurfaced on “Hold That Heat,” a collab between Future and 808 Mafia producer Southside. Over one of Southside’s signature woozy trap beats, Travis celebrates being one of the most successful rappers in the game with lyrics like, “One of the top of the barrel/ Number one, get all the zeros.” A clip of “Hold That Heat” leaked online last summer, so it’s likely that Travis added in his lines about spending “six months down out in Cabo” recently. Collaborators like Wheezy have spoken about traveling there to work with him for a while now. Future closes out the track with the hedonist rhymes fans have come to expect: “I got a ...

KISS Frontman PAUL STANLEY Is Auctioning 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible

KISS frontman Paul Stanley is auctioning off a 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible. Barrett-Jackson will offer his factory-customized C8 Corvette with no reserve at the 2022 Las Vegas Auction, held June 30 to July 2 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Stanley became acquainted with Chevrolet‘s top executives at the launch of the C7 Corvette in 2013 and was later asked by Mark Reuss, the president of Chevrolet, if he would like to take part in designing a 2015 Stingray model for the 2014 SEMA Show. He agreed and worked with the design team to develop a color inspired by a supercar he had seen, which is incredibly close to the Long Beach Red paint option Chevrolet began offering in 2016. Following the project, Stanley said he was very excited that Chevrolet wo...

He said: “Right now we’re just coming out of the lockdowns, and we’ve all been busy doing our own thing. Jerry [Cantrell, ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist] is out on tour at the moment for his solo album, and I’m doing my thing. We have plans for some live shows in September/October, and I’m sure that will blow off the cobwebs and we’ll start looking at some new ideas for the next ALICE IN CHAINS album. “We had a lot of time imposed on us and I think we’re going through this period of catching up on things that we had planned for 2020 [and] 20...

Liam Gallagher Welcomes “Better Days” with New Single: Stream

Liam Gallagher is here to lift your spirits with “Better Days,” the latest preview of his forthcoming solo album C’MON YOU KNOW. The former Oasis frontman’s new single arrives today with an accompanying music video. “Better Days” feels like a natural progression for Gallagher, evoking the thrill of ’90s arena rock while cloaking it in a modern sheen. Switching between mellow verses and a bombastic, soaring chorus, the Britpop icon urges you to see the light. “If you’re lost, I’ll find you there/ With the sunlight in your hair/ And the sadness washed away by the rain,” he sings just before the breakneck drums come in. The music video for “Better Days” channels a similar nostalgia. Tuned-in Oasis fans might notice the parallels between this rooftop location and the set used in the ...

Stream Conspiranoid on Apple Music or Spotify below. Conspiranoid includes the whopping 11-minute epic “Conspiranoia,” which Consequence premiered earlier this month. “I’d been itching to record an opus — basically a long, winding, bastard of a song, reminiscent of some of the compositions I cut my teeth (or ears) on, in my music-hungry adolescence,” frontman Les Claypool explained. He continued: “‘Conspiranoia’ was sprouted from a seed I had planted in my notebook a year or so ago — a few lines commenting on the mental state of the contemporary world.” Meanwhile, the EP’s other two tracks, “Follow the Fool” and “Eri...

Neko Case Shares New Song “Oh, Shadowless”: Stream

Neko Case has a new retrospective compilation out today. Alongside 22 past favorites, Wild Creatures boasts a brand new song called “Oh, Shadowless.” Take a listen below. “Oh, Shadowless” begins as a gentle waltz, with chiming guitars and Case’s sweet vocals swirling together in a genial lullaby. Before long, however, a barrage of feedback and drums break the spell, revealing a sense of foreboding hiding under the surface. It makes sense, then, that Case’s main refrain is “Sandman is coming, but he’s taking too long.” The single comes with a charming stop-motion music video directed by Laura Plansker, and its furry characters can’t seem to get a peaceful night’s sleep, either. Consequence caught up with Case to gain some insight on her new single, and to look back on her 25-year caree...

Kiernan Shipka and Diane Kruger on How Real Hollywood Can Be Just as Brutal as Swimming With Sharks

Kiernan Shipka has some unconventional advice for getting to know a new co-star — do drugs with them. Or pretend to do drugs with them, as she tells Consequence. The Mad Men and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina alum stars with Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds, National Treasure) in Swimming With Sharks, a six-episode limited series that was originally produced to debut on the dearly departed streaming service Quibi. After Quibi shut down literally as the series was finishing up production, it (along with other Quibi series) was rescued by the Roku Channel for distribution. Based on the acclaimed 1994 indie film about a young assistant dealing with a tyrannical Hollywood boss, creator Kathleen Robertson flipped the genders of the leads to introduce the character of Lou Simms (Shipka), an as...

Presently, the RIAA awards a gold honor for 500,000 units sold, a platinum honor for 1 million units sold and a diamond award for more than 10 million units sold. In the streaming age, each permanent digital alb...
