Music/Def Jam Recordings, and today, the singer has shared the project’s lead single, “Skin and Bones.” Additionally, 070 Shake has mapped out a run of North American tour dates for Spring 2022. YOU CAN’T KILL ME follows 070 Shake’s 2020 debut album, Modus Vivendi. That LP included the single “Guilty Conscience,” which Consequence named one of the best songs of that year. If “Skin and Bones” is any indication, the Artist of the Month alum isn’t slowing down anytime soon. “Skin and Bones” is simultaneously a banger and a slow jam that incorporates 070 Shake’s signature blend of hip-hop, soul, and danceable pop. The track documents a clandestine love affair that seems to...

POISON’s RIKKI ROCKETT Sides With MIKE TYSON For Allegedly Punching ‘Aggressive’ Plane Passenger

POISON drummer Rikki Rockett has come out in support of Mike Tyson after the former heavyweight boxer was reportedly filmed punching a man in the face on a plane. In the video, which went viral on Thursday (April 21), a fellow first-class passenger is seen “provoking” Tyson from the seat behind him aboard a Florida-bound flight, with Tyson eventually losing his cool and repeatedly pummeling the passenger, resulting in the passenger sustaining cuts to his head. Although some people on the Internet drew comparisons between Tyson and Will Smith slapping Chris Rock onstage at the 2022 Oscars, most of the reactions seem to be in support of the boxer, who was on the Wednesday night JetBlue flight from San Francisco to Miami to appear at a weed conference after-party. One musician who...

We Own This City Is a Comprehensive, Heartbreaking Account of a City in Ruins: Review

The Pitch: The tragic death of Freddie Gray in 2015 while in police custody was a watershed moment for Baltimore; Black communities and activists erupted in protest against the overwhelming presence of (and abuse by) Baltimore Police Department officers, who frequently dispensed justice at the end of a baton. And in 2017, the city saw the closest thing that’s come to accountability, with the arrests of the members of BPD’s Gun Trace Task Force — a unit specifically tasked with taking guns and drugs off the streets of Baltimore, but who instead used their institutional power to enrich themselves. Drugs planted in cars to justify arrests, seized cash going missing, violent crackdowns on anyone who looks at them funny: it was just another day on the job, particularly for the GTTF’s hothe...

Nicholas Braun Writing HBO Series About a Struggling 2000s Indie Band

Succession star and NYC nightlife darling Nicholas Braun is ready to put his music nerddom in the spotlight. The actor is teaming up with producer Chris Buongiorno to develop a half-hour series for HBO about an indie band in the early 2000s, Variety reports. Titled One for the Road, the series is described as a “candid and intimate story of a talented but dysfunctional band struggling to survive the rapidly changing landscape of independent music” in the aughts. “If anybody wants us to join their band for research please let us know,” Braun wrote on Instagram. Will this band embody the post-punk revivalism of The Strokes and Interpol? Will it initiate a much-needed electroclash renaissance by emulating long-forgotten greats like Fischerspooner or Ladytron? Or will ...
