The Who appeared on Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Friday night for a rare late-night TV performance. Appearing remotely from London’s famed Royal Albert Hall, the legendary English rockers ran through their 1971 classic, “Behind Blue Eyes.” Watch the replay below. Accompanied by a full backing orchestra, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend treated the full auditorium to a stunning new arrangement of the track, which originally appeared on the album Who’s Next. In a recent interview with RadioactiveMike Z, host of the 96.7 KCAL-FM radio program “Wired In The Empire”, former ILL NIÑO and current LIONS AT THE GATE singer Cristian Machado was asked about his introduction to the music of METALLICA. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “My introduction to METALLICA was ‘Master Of Puppets’. I remember living in New York City. My Polish cousin, ironically — I’m a Latino, but I have a small part of my family that’s from Poland — he had visited our family from Poland. And apparently, I learned that day that in Europe, and especially in Eastern Europe, they’re on to underground metal way earlier than Americans are. Back then in the ’80s, Europeans and Eastern Europeans were on to the metal band...

In a new interview with Andy Hall of the Des Moines, Iowa radio station Lazer 103.3, SKID ROW guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo, whose band is currently supporting the SCORPIONS on the rescheduled dates of their “Sin City Nights” residency, weighed in on the legendary Germany hard rockers’ exclusion from the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It’s criminal. It’s absolutely criminal. They have blazed the path for so many bands. And so many people probably don’t even realize it, but they have been such a huge influence on so much music that is contemporary today. Their songwriting, their hooks — they’re just undeniable. Their musicianship — always undeniable. And yes, it’s criminal that they...
Phoebe Bridgers took the stage at Coachella for her debut performance at the festival. In addition to playing “Sidelines” — her new song for the upcoming series Conversations with Friends — the indie-folk artist invited R&B musician Arlo Parks to join her for renditions of “Graceland Too” and “I Know the End.” (Ed. Note: Did you know Bridgers and Parks are both former Consequence Artist of the Month recipients?) “Graceland Too” and “I Know the End” are both highlights from Bridgers’ most recent album, Punisher, and backing vocals are absolutely necessary to get them off the ground. Parks’ honeyed croon does the job perfectly, from the harmonies of “Graceland Too” to the unforgettable chants of “I Know the End.” Aside from the songs mentioned, Bridgers’ set also included her ...

Florence + the Machine took the stage at O2 City Hall in Newcastle, UK on Friday night for their first full-band performance in three years. In a recent interview with Finland’s Chaoszine, MESHUGGAH‘s Tomas Haake was asked if playing the drums in such a physically demanding style becomes more difficult as he gets older. The 50-year-old Swedish musician responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “You definitely feel it; there’s no doubt. I definitely am not the drummer I was when I was 30 and I’m not physically as capable as I was when I was 30 years old. But you can still… Now I had a year since I played drums [after recording the latest MESHUGGAH album], so, obviously, the first few times you rehearse, it’s, like, ‘Ahhh…’ A few songs into it, you’re, like, ‘My heart.’ You feel it. But it’s still surprising how fast you get back into it, and I’m ...
