Orion Pictures and Plan B Entertainment have today shared a new trailer for Women Talking, the upcoming drama film based on Miriam Toews’ 2018 novel of the same name and inspired by harrowing real-life events. Though the costumes wouldn’t suggest so, Women Talking takes place in 2010, following a group of women who live in an isolated Mennonite colony. When the women realize that the men in their colony have been sexually abusing them for years, they must reckon with their strict Anabaptist views within their harsh new reality. “We know that we’ve not imagined these attacks,” one of the women, Salome (Claire Foy), says tearily in the trailer. “We know that we are bruised and infected and pregnant and some of us are dead.” Another woman, Ona (Rooney Mara), concurs: “We c...

Gunna is set to be released from prison after pleading guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge against him, Young Thug, and 26 other associates, local Atlanta news outlets report. The rapper — born Sergio Kitchens — entered an Alford plea, a type of negotiation in which a defendant still maintains their innocence, but admits that evidence would likely result in a guilty verdict if the case were to go to trial. Gunna had been sentenced to five years with one being served in prison. The remaining four years of his sentence have been suspended and will be subject to special conditions, including 500 hours of community service. Former Dirty Projectors multi-instrumentalist Angel Deradoorian and current Glintshake singer Kate NV have formed a new project called Decisive Pink. To mark their signing to Fire Records, they’ve shared their debut single, “Haffmilch Holiday.” Listen to the duo’s first track below. Both Deradoorian and Kate NV are known for playing guitar, but Decisive Pink build their sound through the layering of modular synthesizers. “Haffmilch Holiday” hearkens back to the earliest electronic music, with a few initial computerized beeps giving way to robotic percussion and reverb-drenched vocals. The single was inspired by Decisive Pink’s time recording their debut album in Köln, where every morning they would walk to a local coffee shop and order haffmilch cappuccino. In a statement, Decisive Pink ex...
