The trek kicked off on November 16 in Asheville, North Carolina and concluded on December 5 in Denver, Colorado. Brann said: “We dipped our toes in touring. I think it went pretty well. But there was still a lot of… The omicron variant has just been popping off, so there was a lot of tickets sold that people just didn’t come; they just stayed home. So it was kind of crazy. I mean, the shows were great and they were pretty packed, but the promoters noticed that people were buying tickets and just not coming, because they were just frightened of being… Obviously, our industry is the last one to come back. It’s, like, ‘Let’...
Former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing spoke to “The Cassius Morris Show” about the fact that he has been nominated for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction for the third time. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “You kind of blow hot and cold with it because when you think of the people that are still not in there but when you think of the people that are in there, it’s a bit of a conflict for me. And it’s all a bit weird. But there are certain awards that you can achieve in your lifetime, like a Grammy — I’ve got one; I’ve got three nominations for Grammys. And when all’s said and done about that situation, it’s still kind of nice to have something on the mantel piece you can look at and hopefully you can pass it on ...
The new Starz series Shining Vale opens with some bold decrees: that women are roughly twice as likely as men to suffer from depression, that women are also twice as likely to be possessed by a demon, and that the symptoms of depression and possession are pretty much the same. Thus begins Sharon Horgan and Jeff Astrof’s tale of Pat, a troubled writer (Courteney Cox) moving with her family to a massive — and potentially haunted — new house in Connecticut, in search of a new start that may or may not get complicated by a ghostly presence lurking in the walls. The series features an unconventional blend of horror and comedy, what Horgan (the critically lauded co-creator of nuanced relationship dramedies like Divorce and Catastrophe) has dubbed a “shit-com.” When speaking with Consequence abou...
During the course of the pandemic, King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp and his singer wife, Toyah Willcox, have been distracting music fans with lighthearted and eye-catching covers of iconic rock tunes. This week, the couple took a more serious tone as they turned their attention toward the war in Ukraine, performing Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” and Living Colour’s “Cult of Personality.” For their latest “Sunday Lunch” performance, Robert and Toyah take on Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.” While the original may have been an indictment of American policies under the George H. W. Bush administration at the time Young released the song in 1989, it’s clear that the Robert and Toyah are focusing on Russia’s current attack on the freedom of the Ukrainian people right now. In the...

Charli XCX finally performed as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live during this weekend’s episode hosted by Oscar Isaac. Watch the musical numbers below. The pop star first ran through a solo version of her single “Beg For You.” Sans Rina Sawayama — or recent remix collaborator VERNON of SEVENTEEN — the singer hit the stage in an all-white ensemble and long, talon-like nails, flanked by two giant hanging plastic sheets rather than backup dancers. Later in the show, Charli XCX premiered her new song “Baby” live for the first time. Recreating the track’s high-energy music video, the singer swapped out the female doppelgängers of the visual for a pair of fierce male dancers who ran through the choreography with her. “Why you tryin’ to fight what’s right?/ You know I’m ’bout to change you...
