Video footage of IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson answering fan-submitted questions during his February 24 spoken-word show at Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas can be seen in two parts below. Dickinson‘s two-month North American spoken-word tour kicked off on January 17 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and will run through the end of March. Bruce‘s spoken-word show is split into two parts. The first section sees him take a humorous and often satirical look at the world from his own very personal perspective, treating the audience to private insights into his drive and ambition, peppered with plenty of MAIDEN anecdotes, and a myriad of other experiences encompassing not just the giddy heights but also the extreme lows, as told first-hand in his inimitable anarchic style, punctuat...

The long-in-development Beetlejuice sequel has apparently found new life thanks to an unlikely source: Brad Pitt. According to Jeff Sneider of The Ankler, Pitt’s production company Plan B has officially boarded Beetlejuice 2, with the goal of getting cameras rolling as soon as this summer. Sneider adds that original Beetlejuice stars Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder are set to reprise their roles, and Tim Burton is likely to return to the director’s chair. For obvious reasons, Alec Baldwin is not involved. Advertisement Related Video Rumors of a Bettlejuice sequel have persisted for years, with Burton, Keaton, and Ryder all expressing various degrees of interest in the project. In 2015 it appeared as if Burton had finally gotten the green-light from Warner Bros. to move ahead on a sequel, b...
The world is pretty dire right now and the music industry is no exception. In light of the recent Spotify vs. Joe Rogan debacle — in which issues of censorship, misinformation, racism, and paying artists an adequate wage all came to a head — Stereogum recently got on the phone with one of the biggest artists who pulled their music from the platform: David Crosby. During the interview, he revealed why, in his eyes, the modern music industry is pretty hopeless. “Don’t become a musician,” Crosby said when asked what he would tell younger artists trying to navigate the penniless world of streaming. “I don’t like Spotify. I don’t like any of the streamers, because they don’t pay us properly. Their proportion is wrong. They’re making billions with a ‘b’ and they’re paying out pennies with a ‘p.’...

SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor says that the passing of Joey Jordison broke his heart. The founding SLIPKNOT drummer died “peacefully in his sleep” last July of an unspecified cause. He was 46 years old. Taylor addressed Jordison‘s death publicly during a February 18 question-and-answer session at the annual Mad Monster Party, a three-day fan convention which took place at the Embassy Suites in Concord, North Carolina. Asked how he has dealt with the loss of his longtime bandmate, Corey said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “That’s a tough one. It hit me hard, even though I hadn’t seen him or talked to him in a very long time. And I won’t get into certain things, but I will say that it hit us all really hard. The first person that I called was...
During a new appearance on the “Stop! Drop & Talk” podcast, GODSMACK drummer Shannon Larkin spoke about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band’s new studio album. He said (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET) “GODSMACK, I’ll just say, we are all happy and healthy and love one another. And we’re writing music, and we have some cool music happening. And we’re blessed enough to have time… We’re doing it really different this time. We’re taking a couple of weeks on and however long off and then till the man calls, the genius calls. When Sully [Erna, GODSMACK frontman] gets a spark, then we get together. There’s no plan. For however long we can get together, we get together and create together. So it’s a beautiful ...
Ted Nugent has blasted electric vehicles as not environmentally friendly, citing the harmful effects of mining for the rare metals, like the lithium necessary for the vehicles’ batteries, and of disposing or recycling those batteries at the end of their lives. Nugent weighed in on the claim that solar panels and electric vehicles are two prime examples of technologies that can help people minimize their environmental footprint during today’s (Monday, February 28) edition of “The Nightly Nuge”, a news-style clip in which Ted offers his take on the news of our world every night. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “The whole electric car debacle? Absolutely an environmental curse. “Let’s examine the science, shall we? Where does all the lit...
Netflix will ignore a Russian law, expected to go into effect March 1st, that requires media platforms to carry state propaganda channels. In a statement to Deadline, the streaming platform referenced the invasion of Ukraine, stating, “Given the current situation, we have no plans to add these channels to our service.” Netflix introduced a local-language service to Russia a little more than a year ago. As an “audiovisual service” with more than 100,000 users, it falls under the jurisdiction of Russia’s media watchdog Roskomnadzor. It would be obligated to avoid promoting “extremism,” whatever that means, while carrying Channel One, the entertainment network NTV, and a Russian Orthodox Church channel. Given Russia’s ongoing military campaign in Ukraine, it’s unclear if the media law wi...
Madonna’s latest endeavor includes directing a biopic about her own music career. But before the Queen of Pop gets her story to the silver screen, she has to find its star. Among the actresses who have auditioned for the role? Euphoria breakouts Sydney Sweeney and Barbie Ferreira — as well as Ozark’s Julia Garner. Jeff Sneider of The Ankler reports that Madonna’s biopic is one of the most coveted roles for young actresses in recent memory. Madge herself reportedly had her sights set on Florence Pugh, but considering how many other actresses have been through the auditioning process since then, we’re inclined to believe the Midsommar star might be “hung up” on other projects. Of course, to play a pop star as subversive as Madonna in her early career requires a bit of an edge....
