Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has unleashed his long-awaited new solo album, Earthling. Listen to the project below. Earthling marks Vedder’s first solo project since 2011’s Ukulele Songs. With a star-studded backing band featuring Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer, and guest appearances from Ringo Starr, Stevie Wonder, and Elton John, the LP moves beyond the angsty grunge that made the artist famous over three decades ago. Instead, Vedder dabbles in bluegrass, Americana, and straight-ahead rock, “a trial-and-error soundtrack to one man’s maturation,” as we put it in our review of the album. It features the previously released singles “Long Way,” “The Haves,” and “Brother the Cloud.” Advertisement Related Video Last week, Vedder kicked off his “Earthlings” t...
Kanye West is set to return on February 22nd with Donda 2. In anticipation, he’s shared “City of Gods,” a new collaboration with Fivio Foreign and Alicia Keys. Decidedly an East Coast number, Brooklyn drill rapper Fivio Foreign and concrete-jungle native Alicia Keys help Ye celebrate New York with thunderous bass and a skittering beat. “New York City, please go easy on me tonight,” Keys sings gently, but West, meanwhile goes on the offensive. Threatening to pull up to SNL — where a certain someone works — West spits, “When I pull up, it’s dead on arrival/ They act like they love you, they don’t even like you.” Wonder what that’s about. Listen to “City of Gods” below. In other beef-related Kanye news, the rapper recently said he wouldn’t play Coachella unless fellow headliner Billie Eilish ...

DISTURBED frontman David Draiman says that streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music “saved” the music industry. The 48-year-old singer shared his opinion after a video compilation surfaced of podcaster Joe Rogan repeatedly using the “n-word” on his “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, which first launched in 2009 and became exclusive to Spotify in late 2020, prompting renewed criticism against both Rogan and Spotify at large. Just a couple of weeks earlier, Neil Young and other musicians pulled their music from the platform over their belief that Rogan and his guests spread COVID-19 misinformation. Meanwhile, some musicians have taken the opportunity to open up larger conversations about Spotify‘s payout structures, artist rights, and the streami...
