Sony is looking to wrap up Dakota Johnson as the star of its first female-led Spider-Man universe adventure, Madame Web. The project was first announced back in 2019, with Morbius writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless working on the screenplay. Now, Deadline reports that Johnson is in final talks to lead the picture, with S.J. Clarkson (Marvel’s Jessica Jones, The Defenders) onboard as director. Created in 1980 by writer Denny O’Neil and artist John Romita Jr., Madame Web is a mutant with incredible psychic and clairvoyant capabilities. (Considering Marvel now owns mutants in their entirety again, it’s likely the character’s origins will be altered for the movie.) Johnson’s casting hints her general appearance will also be changed, as she’s most often depicted as an el...
British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST are “amped” to be nominated for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction for the third time. JUDAS PRIEST was previously on the ballot for Rock Hall induction in 2020, but failed to receive enough votes to make that year’s class. Having been eligible for induction since 1999, PRIEST was also on the ballot for the 2018 class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, but was ultimately left out of the inductee list. On Wednesday (February 2), it was announced that JUDAS PRIEST is among the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame‘s class of 2022. Inductees will be announced in May. The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 2022 induction ceremony will take place this fall. The date, venue, and on-sale information will be announced later. With...
Corey Taylor says that STONE SOUR is still “on the back burner” while he focuses all of his attention on SLIPKNOT and his solo career. A year and a half after announcing in an interview that STONE SOUR had “run its course,” the SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman elaborated on the latter band’s current status during a February 2 appearance on SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk”. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It’s on the back burner. It’s just one of those things where my mind and my heart are in a different direction. And that’s cool. “I wish everybody in STONE SOUR all the best,” he continued. “I still talk to almost all of ’em. But sometimes you’ve just gotta do what...

David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, and Neil Young haven’t always liked each other, but the songwriters of CSNY seem to have set that aside because they dislike Spotify even more. After Young pulled his music from the streaming giant last week over concerns about COVID-19 misinformation on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Nash followed suit, and now Crosby, Stills, and Nash have shared a joint statement announcing that they plan to remove their music. “We support Neil and we agree with him that there is dangerous disinformation being aired on Spotify’s Joe Rogan podcast,” the statement reads. “While we always value alternate points of view, knowingly spreading disinformation during this global pandemic has deadly consequences. Until real action is taken to show that a concern for humanity must ...
Craig Robinson is a snake-killing, kimono-wearing, all-American success story in the teaser trailer for Killing It. The new comedy series from Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-creator Dan Goor and writer/producer Luke Del Tredici arrives on Peacock in April. The trailer opens with Robinson standing on the balcony of a mansion overlooking the water, his flapping kimono allowing full-body access to the ocean breeze. “I know what you’re thinking: this rich prick,” he says. “But I came from nothing. And the story I’m about to tell you could only happen in the USA.” Robinson has plenty of experience working with Goor and Del Tredici, having booked several episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine as the Pontiac Bandit. In a statement, the series creators talked about their ambitions for...
Four men have been charged in connection with the overdose death of Michael K. Williams, accused of selling the actor heroin laced with fentanyl. Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said the men were part of a drug trafficking crew that operated in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. According to video surveillance footage obtained by police detectives, Williams purchased heroin from the group on South 3rd Street in Williamsburg on September 5th, 2021. He was found dead inside of his Brooklyn apartment the following day. A coroner later determined that Williams died of an accidental overdose after ingesting a mix of fentanyl, p-fluorofentanyl, heroin, and cocaine. Irvin Cartagena, Hector Robles, Luis Cruz, and Carlos Macci are each charged with conspir...
If you’ve somehow avoided hearing about it thus far — and if so, we are very jealous — Joe Rogan’s controversial inclinations have come to a head in the past few days. The comedian, whose The Joe Rogan Experience is Spotify’s top-streamed exclusive podcast, has prompted a fleet of musicians to pull their music from the platform, most notably Neil Young. Other musicians have since followed Young’s lead, citing Rogan’s continuous misinformation regarding COVID-19 (among countless other eyebrow-raising remarks). Rogan posted a video in response to the controversy, promising he’d invite “more experts with differing opinions right after [he has] the controversial ones,” and that he would “do [his] best to make sure [he’s] researched these topics.” A self-proclaimed fan of Young, Rogan also...
TRIUMPH‘s first-ever feature documentary about the band’s dramatic career, “Triumph: Rock & Roll Machine”, will be available for streaming in Canada beginning on Monday, February 7, only on Crave. Produced by Emmy and Peabody award-winning Banger Films, “Triumph: Rock & Roll Machine” is a Crave original documentary that has been described as “a celebratory, exhilarating thrill ride through the history of one of rock’s most unsung acts.” The film covers TRIUMPH‘s humble beginnings as staples of the GTA circuit in the mid-’70s to their heyday as touring juggernauts, selling out arenas and stadiums all across North America with their legendary spectacular live shows — and way beyond. Last September, TRIUMPH guitarist/vo...
