Graham Nash has joined his longtime friend and bandmate, Neil Young, in pulling his music from Spotify. “Having heard the Covid disinformation spread by Joe Rogan on Spotify, I completely agree with and support my friend Neil Young and I am requesting that my solo recordings be removed from the service,” Nash said in a statement released on Tuesday. “There is a difference between being open to varying viewpoints on a matter and knowingly spreading false information which some 270 medical professionals have derided as not only false but dangerous,” Nash continued. “Likewise, there is a difference between misinformation, in which one is unaware that what is being said is false, versus disinformation which is knowingly false and intended to mislead and sway public opinion.” Advertisement Rela...
Guitar-shredding virtuoso George Lynch recently reteamed with his former DOKKEN bandmate Jeff Pilson for a set of new studio recordings that turn pop music classics into powerful metal anthems. The follow-up to 2020’s “Heavy Hitters”, tentatively titled “Heavy Hitters 2”, will be released later in the year via Deadline Music, a subsidiary of Cleopatra Records, Inc. In a new interview with SW Wall Interviews, Pilson stated about how the idea for the first “Heavy Hitters” LP came about (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “George had done a record and he was re-releasing it through another label, which was Cleopatra Records. And the label wanted to add a bonus song to it, and they wanted him to cover this pop song. So he said ‘yes.’...

RATING: 7.5/10 British heavy metal icons SAXON have remained venerable vaunted veterans through four decades in large part due to their charismatic live presence. The band’s post-2000 studio output has remained consistent, with new albums being reliably released every few years. The majority of those records have been made up of comfort-food metal anthems re-establishing the group as having a few tricks left up their sleeve. And while they are enjoyable when listening, they ultimately end up with maybe one or two songs entering the live setlist. The band’s 23rd studio album, “Carpe Diem”, seems destined to join that lengthy list of records that provide a few moments of heavy metal triumph, showing off what propelled SAXON to their legendary status but never fully ri...
JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford has shared a photo containing two of his most prized pieces of rock memorabilia: a bullet containing late MOTÖRHEAD frontman Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister‘s ashes and Ronnie James Dio‘s ring he received as a gift from the legendary heavy metal vocalist’s widow and manager, Wendy Dio. Halford posted the picture on his Instagram and he wrote in an accompanying caption: “‘Ronnie & Lemmy‘ #heavymetal #ink #motivation #legend #icon #inspiration #strong #power #style #love #family #friends #fans #one #world #peace #respect #all @_ronniejamesdio @officialmotorhead”. It was last November that Halford first confirmed that he was one of several people who received a bullet from Lemmy as a personal gift. He told to the ...

If you’re not having fun yet with the highly-anticipated revival of Party Down, the latest casting announcements might do the trick: Jennifer Garner has joined the show as a regular, while James Marsden has booked a recurring guest role. Both characters arrive with the glow of real Hollywood success that eludes so much of the Party Down catering crew. Garner plays “Evie,” described as “a successful producer of studio franchise movies, who, in the wake of a breakup, is reconsidering her life choices.” That includes dating Henry Pollard (Adam Scott), and you can imagine how a relationship with a high-powered producer might affect his ongoing existential crisis. As for Marsden, he’s been cast as “Jack Botty,” the handsome star of a popular superhero franchise. He is noted to be someone w...
Chris Caffery, who has been a member of SAVATAGE for more than 30 years, was asked by Pete Pardo of Sea Of Tranquility about the possibility of new music from the cult metal outfit. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I’m trying to figure out which quote I can use that Blabbermouth will throw up there and say, ‘Chris Caffery said…’ It’s funny with that, because I was talking to somebody. I did an interview, I think, in December, and they asked me how I felt about it, and I told them that me and Jon [Oliva, SAVATAGE leader] were writing literally with the idea of SAVATAGE in mind in 2021. And I told them that I definitely felt more optimistic than I had [in the past]. And [on Blabbermouth] they were, like, ‘Chris Caffery‘s completely opti...

Clocking in at a hefty 82 minutes, it marks MAIDEN‘s second consecutive double album behind 2015’s “The Book Of Souls” which is the longest MAIDEN album, with a running time of 92 minutes. IRON MAIDEN‘s first album in six years, “Senjutsu” was recorded in 2019 in Paris with longstanding producer Kevin Shirley and co-produc...
SAXON frontman Biff Byford says that it was “crazy” for JUDAS PRIEST to announce its plan to embark on the next leg of its 50th-anniversary tour as a quartet. On January 10, JUDAS PRIEST revealed that it would perform as a four-piece when it returns to the road in early March. A few hours later, the band’s touring guitarist Andy Sneap, who co-produced the group’s 2018 album “Firepower” and has helmed several SAXON LPs in the past, released a statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET in which he said that he was “incredibly disappointed” by PRIEST‘s decision to carry on as a quartet and thanked the Rob Halford-fronted outfit for the “mind-blowing” opportunity to share the stage with one of his favorite bands. Meanwhile, PRIEST fans were ...
