It’s the most wonderful time of the year. No, we’re not talking about the holidays — it’s officially List Season! It’s time to honor the best music, movies, and television that 2022 had to offer. For Consequence, that means our 2022 Annual Report where we’ll name our Artist of the Year, Band of the Year, and dish out more superlatives than a high school yearbook club vice-president hopped up on Pixy Stix and Diet Coke. Beginning next week, we’ll also be sharing our big staff lists, rounding up our favorite albums, songs, live concerts, TV shows, and films from the past year. But before we spend all that time regaling you with our unimpeachably great taste (we’re already sure that nobody will disagree with our lists on Twitter), we want to hear from you. With that in mind, we’ve cooked...
Björk is keeping the momentum going on her new album Fossora: Today, the art-pop legend has shared the transfixing new music video for the album highlight “Sorrowful Soil.” Björk shared in an Instagram post that, along with the single “Ancestress,” “Sorrowful Soil” is one of two songs on Fossora about her late mother. While “Ancestress” was her own take on “funeral music,” “Sorrowful Soil” focuses more on the period of time leading up to a loved’s ones imminent passing. “when my grandfather passed away there was a pamphlet at the hospital advising relatives how to talk to loved ones before they pass away,” the Icelandic musician went on. “i loved how it went really generic and universal and said that all of them will give families to-do-lists (dry-cleaning and such) but also ask ...

For a nine-year period between 2004 and 2013, Kanye West was a visionary musical force, who amassed a catalog unrivaled by any of his peers. At the peak of his powers, West was one of the most creative, provocative, and influential artists to ever exist, whose records changed the sound of hip-hop. Now, he’s just a Nazi. On Thursday, December 1st, West joined alt-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on his InfoWars talk show. Over the course of a two-hour appearance, West proudly declared himself a Nazi, questioned the existence of the Holocaust, and praised Adolf Hitler for doing “good things.” He railed against “Zionists” as “evil,” and even pulled out a net and bottle of Yoo-hoo chocolate milk, which he claimed was longtime Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in an apparent attemp...
