Chris Daughtry‘s family has confirmed that his stepdaughter, Hannah Price, died by suicide while under the influence of narcotics. The 25-year-old was found dead in her Nashville home on November 12 by the Nashville Police Department. In a statement shared exclusively with People, the Daughtry family said: “Our beloved Daughter Hannah Price passed away on November 12th, 2021. Much speculation has been made since that date, and after a full investigation by law enforcement we are now able to speak in further detail. The family said that Price had struggled with mental illness “from a young age,” and “was in and out of therapy and treatment centers” over the years. “As Hannah got older, she struggled to find her footing and began using drugs and ofte...
In perhaps one of the most impeccable voice casting moves in recent memory, Jason Mantzoukas will be providing the voice of a penis. More specifically, he’ll be voicing the genitalia of Tommy Lee in Pam & Tommy, Hulu’s forthcoming limited series about the whirlwind romantic relationship between the Mötley Crüe drummer and his ex-wife, Pamela Anderson. A talking penis might be a first for Hulu, but considering Mantzoukas’ unforgettable appearances in shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, and Parks and Recreation — and we mean this with the utmost respect — he’ll do a really great job voicing a penis. Apparently, the second episode of Pam & Tommy includes a scene during which Lee consults his schlong for advice about love, because that approach has never failed anybody ...
For the first time in over 25 years, you can “spot the heat around the corner.” Michael Mann has announced Heat 2, his first novel co-written with Edgar-winner Meg Gardiner that will serve as both a prequel and a sequel to the 1995 film. Heat 2 arrives August 9th from William Morrow and Michael Mann Books, and pre-orders are now ongoing. Heat followed the pursuit of career criminal Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro) by LAPD cop Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino), while paying special attention to the way they relate to each other more than most of the people around them. The famed dinner scene raised the emotional stakes of the final shootout, while also marking the first time that De Niro and Pacino had appeared together on screen. “It’s been my intention for a long time ...
Self-proclaimed weirdo Bong Joon Ho and documented weirdo Robert Pattinson are slated to work together soon. The Parasite mastermind will write and direct a currently untitled sci-fi film, with the latest Batman in talks to star, as first reported by Deadline. Bong’s next project will be based on Mickey7, a forthcoming novel from author Edward Ashton which has been described as a combination of Andy Wier’s The Martian and Blake Crouch’s Dark Matter. Its protagonist, Mickey7, is killed during his risky expedition in colonizing an ice world called Niflheim. However, his body is regenerated after his death with most of his memories intact. After the rest of the world presumes him dead, Mickey7 then discovers that a clone, Mickey8, has taken his place. (So, what we’re hearing is we might ...
Big Thief have a 20-song album on the way, so naturally, they’ve been releasing a lot of singles. Next up on the list is “Simulation Swarm,” the latest look at Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, due out in February. Listen to the song below. Big Thief have played “Simulation Swarm” live on several occasions, at times flooding the song with distortion, but its official release as part of Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You is an almost acoustic number. Meandering bass twirls over a quick, intricate guitar line, as singer Adrianne Lenker delivers an endless, cyclical vocal. “You believe, I believe too/ That you are the river of light/ Who I love that I cling to/ In the belly of the empty night,” Lenker sings, her words spilling over each other. While its swirling riff begi...
Nilüfer Yanya’s next album, PAINLESS, is just around the corner. Ahead of its March 4th release, the London musician has shared another new single called “midnight sun,” along with a dreamy accompanying music video. Backed by a downtempo beat and a hypnotic, cyclical guitar riff, “midnight sun” grapples with feeling an influx of heavy emotion and grounding yourself in the love of another person. “So maybe/ I can’t care too much/ I can’t clean this up,” Yanya croons, as the track builds into a gritty, gut-wrenching climax. “Never felt so sure/ You’re my best machine/ You’re my midnight sun.” “It’s a song about recognizing what it feels like to be pushed down but wanting to resist,” Yanya explained in a press statement. “I really like the imagery of ‘midnight sun’ as a lyric as it insinuates...
At the time of his 2018 trial, many people were surprised to learn that Bill Cosby was an alleged sexual predator who had been accused of drugging, raping, or sexually assaulting more than 60 women. But as director W. Kamau Bell points out in the new official trailer for We Need to Talk About Cosby, the disgraced comedian barely bothered to hide what he was doing. The four-part documentary series premieres January 30th on Showtime. Bell dredges up footage of Cosby being interviewed on national television, joking about slipping someone a “Spanish Fly. The girl would drink it and — hello, America!” He also shows a now-infamous clip from the The Cosby Show, in which Cosby’s character Dr. Huxtable adds a drug into his barbecue sauce that makes people “get all huggy-buggy.” One i...
RATING: 6/10 For melodic heavy metal bands with a substantial catalogue, the lure of the acoustic album is hard to resist. SONATA ARCTICA are more suitable candidates than most, thanks in part to the elegant, lyrical way in which frontman Tony Kakko writes songs. As much as the Finns are able to blow people away with nuts-out heavy metal bluster, they have long stood apart from their peers as something else, something more beautiful and more versatile than the power metal standard. As a result, while “Acoustic Adventures – Volume One” is plainly aimed at diehard fans, rather than the casual metal listener, the whole thing makes perfect sense and is performed with such delicate restraint that it is clearly no kind of cynical stopgap. The opening “The Rest Of The Sun ...
