Goose Share New Single “Borne,” Announce Radio City Music Hall Headlining Show

Can someone check on Bono? The lead singer of U2 recently gave a massively depressed interview, telling the Awards Chatter podcast that he hates the band’s name, is “embarrassed” by most of their songs, and only “recently” learned to sing. Via The Times, the 61-year-old singer admitted that he “still” doesn’t like the name U2. “I really don’t,” he said. “But I was late into some kind of dyslexia. I didn’t realize that The Beatles was a bad pun either.” He added that, “In our head it was like the spy plane, U-boat, it was futuristic — as it turned out to imply this kind of acquiescence, no I don’t like that name. I still don’t really like the name.” However, “Paul McGuinness, our first manager, did say, ‘Look, it’s a great name, it’s going to look good on a T-shirt, a le...

Fly Anakin Announces New Album Frank, Shares Madlib-Produced “No Dough”: Stream

Fly Anakin has released more than two dozen projects since 2015, so calling his upcoming album, Frank, a debut studio effort is a mere formality. In any case, the Richmond, Virginia rapper (born Frank Walton) has announced the project is out March 11th via Lex Records and shared the Madlib-produced single “No Dough.” Frank clocks in at 17 tracks and includes the previously released singles “Ghost” and “Sean Price.” The latter song pays tribute to the late Heltah Skeltah rapper after which it’s named and was produced by Evidence. Despite its less than two-minute runtime, “No Dough” makes a strong impression, with a soul-sampling beat meeting Madlib’s lofty standards and Fly Anakin’s rapid-fire rhymes about his long journey. “All my life I had to fight/ Silver spark you,” he raps. “N****s ne...

Crypto Collective Spent Millions on Copy of Dune Book Thinking It Gave Them IP Rights

Cryptocurrency collective Spice DAO purchased a rare copy of Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Dune, spending millions — more than one hundred times the estimated auction price — because they were apparently under the mistaken impression that owning a book was the same as owning intellectual property rights. Christie’s auction house thought that the book would sell for between €25,000 and €35,000, or about $28,000 to $40,000 USD. That’s still a lot for a book, which is based on a cinematic adaption of Frank Herbert’s Dune that acclaimed avant-garde director Alejandro Jodorowsky attempted and failed to make in the 1970s. This copy is one of about ten bibles Jodorowsky created in an attempt to convince studios to finance the project. He didn’t succeed, but the curios have gained a c...
