HBO Teases New Lana Del Rey Song From the Euphoria Soundtrack

Considering HBO’s smash drama Euphoria follows the lives of troubled, indulgent teens, it’s honestly surprising it’s taken the show this long to include a song by the patron saint of troubled indulgence herself: Lana Del Rey. The official Euphoria Twitter account has shared a clip previewing the next episode, soundtracked to a new song by Del Rey. While the video is just shy of a minute, that’s still long enough to indicate that this new song is tried-and-true Del Rey: Sweeping contralto vocals, an arpeggiated guitar riff, and an overall sense of heartache. This episode — Season 2, episode 3 — is set to air next Sunday. It seems to offer some important backstory on Nate Jacobs’ strict father, Cal, whose salacious habits have threatened to disrupt his family. Watch the Euphor...

Brian Cox Reveals He Turned Down Roles in Game of Thrones and Pirates of the Caribbean

These days, Brian Cox may be most well-known for playing tyrannical patriarch Logan Roy, but he’s revealed in a new excerpt from his upcoming memoir that he turned down parts in famous fare like Game of Thrones and Pirates of the Caribbean. In the pages of Putting the Rabbit in the Hat, which hits bookstores on Tuesday, the Succession actor dishes that he was originally offered the part of Robert Baratheon in the first season of the HBO fantasy hit. “I know very little about ‘Game of Thrones’ so I can’t tell you whether or not he was an important character, and I’m not going to Google it just in case he was, because I turned it down,” he writes in a preview shared by Esquire. “Why? Well, Game of Thrones went on to be a huge success and everybody involved earned an absolute fortune, of cour...

PETA Blasts Kanye and The Game’s Cover Art Depicting Skinned Monkey for New Single “Eazy”

Kanye West and The Game’s new single “Eazy” isn’t just making waves for its Pete Davidson diss. The song’s artwork, which features a skinned monkey, has been condemned by the animal rights organization PETA. “MY LIFE WAS NEVER EAZY,” both artists captioned the artwork, which features the flayed primate against a blood-red background, ahead of the song’s release. Inexplicably, The Game’s original post was flagged by Instagram as “graphic or violent content” while West’s has not been given the same warning as of press time. “The photo is reminiscent of the monkeys PETA has found, sometimes heads, sometimes hands, sometimes the whole body, in meat markets around the world and it makes it clear that when you remove the fur you can’t miss that there’s a person in there, that they are fellow pri...

TED NUGENT Says He Doesn’t Take His Exclusion From ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Personally: ‘I Don’t Need It’

Ted Nugent says that he doesn’t take his exclusion from the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame personally. The conservative rocker, who been eligible for the honor as a solo artist since 2000, has enjoyed a remarkably successful and eventful musical career over the past five decades, but his music is increasingly overshadowed by his political outbursts. Asked in a recent interview with The Real Music Observer about the validity of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame considering that a number of rappers and non-rock artists have been inducted while other deserving acts have been overlooked, Nugent said in part (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “When I criticize the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame… Let’s take me out of the equation. Let’s say I don’t qualify — which is ridicu...

Nearly seven years after announcing that he would embark on a special tour during which he would perform ACCEPT songs one last time under the DIRKSCHNEIDER banner before closing that chapter for good, former ACCEPT frontman Udo Dirkschneider is continuing to play ACCEPT material at select shows, including at the September 18, 2020 U.D.O. concert in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, which was released on DVD and Blu-ray in March 2021. Speaking to El Lado Oscuro about why the ACCEPT tracks are still finding their way into the U.D.O. setlist, Udo said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I was doing DIRKSCHNEIDER for nearly three years and played only ACCEPT songs for three years — I think nearly three hundred shows or whatever. And that was also not planned. It was normally planned to do maybe 10, ...
