Disgraced pharmaceutical CEO Martin Shkreli has been banned from the industry forever, and has also been ordered to return the $64.6 million in profits he made by price-gouging the drug Daraprim. The ruling in U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Friday came in response to a multi-state lawsuit accusing Shkreli of illegal and monopolistic behavior. According to the Associated Press, over the course of a seven-day trial last month, prosecutors presented recordings of conversations that appeared to show Shkreli continuing to exert control over his company, Vyera Pharmaceuticals LLC, while he was behind bars. Those recordings also indicated that Shkreli had plans to prevent generic versions of Daraprim, a life-saving drug used to combat a rare parasitic disease, from being sold. Back in ...
Yikes. Right Said Fred shared a link with their followers over the weekend that led to a livestream full of neo-Nazis, conspiracy theories, and anti-vaxx misinformation. According to The Mirror, the “I’m Too Sexy” singers, who are noted anti-vaxxers in their native UK, posted the link on the cross-platform messaging app Telegram. While the duo didn’t include their own caption, the post brought their more than 5,600 followers to a webcast hosted by Mark Collett, leader of UK white nationalist group Patriotic Alternative. The well-known neo-Nazi, who has openly praised Hitler and denied the Holocaust in the past, was joined in his discussion by white supremacist blogger Jason Köhne (also known to his readers as No White Guilt) and David Duke, former grand wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux...
Let’s dance… bike, or run with David Bowie. The Starman’s entire catalog will arrive on Peloton starting January 19th. The at-home fitness platform has struck a deal to make Bowie its latest artist series. Alongside the musician’s full catalog, Peloton commissioned three exclusive remixes from St. Vincent (“It’s No Game (Pt. 1)”), TOKiMONSTA (“Golden Years”), and Honey Dijon (“Let’s Dance”). “I chose “It’s No Game (Pt. 1)”, because it has a part 2 on the record, and I figured maybe Bowie wouldn’t mind so much if I made a part 3,” St. Vincent’s Annie Clark said of her contribution. “I wanted to take Bowie’s throat-shredding vocal take from part 1, and make it front and center. ‘Three steps to heavaaaaaaaaaaaahn…’” Advertisement Related Video “To me, I connect with Bowie as an amazing ...
The latest episode of Saturday Night Live had some fun at the expense of Peacock’s new dramatic reboot of The French Prince of Bel-Air by imaging a similarly serious, high stakes remake of Family Matters. The spoof trailer for Urkel features all of “the goofy characters you loved in the 90s with absolutely none of the fun or charm,” including Officer Carl Winslow (Kenan Thompson), Laura Winslow (Ego Nwodim), and Steven Quincy Urkel himself (Chris Redd). Ariana DeBose, last night’s SNL host, plays Urkel’s alcoholic mother, and Andrew Dismukes is at the receiving end of Urkel’s fist after bragging about his sexual relations with Laura Winslow. “Did I do thaaaat?” Redd’s Urkel asks while holding Dismukes’ character at gunpoint. “What if I shot you in the face?! Should I do thaaaat?” Elsewhere...
DISTURBED frontman David Draiman, who produced TRIVIUM‘s “Vengeance Falls” album nearly a decade ago, was asked in a new interview with AXS TV‘s “Rock & Tell” if he gravitates to listening to the vocals first when he is working with an artist or if he is able to block that out and listen to something else first. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Well, it all depends on the type of music you’re approaching, number one. Obviously, if we’re talking about something instrumental, then it’s a moot point. But if you’re talking about a vocal-driven song, and that’s the way 99.9 percent of all music, is vocally driven, then I think any producer, whether it’s me or anyone else, is going to start with ...
In a new interview with The Underground Australia, Zakk Wylde (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY) spoke what it has been like to return to the road during the pandemic. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “We just gone done doing… We did 44 shows in 50 days right before… I guess in October and November. And it was great. Nobody got sick. The shows were great. We went out with our good friends in PRONG and OBITUARY. And we had a great time. “The schedule is probably about five months from now we’re going out to Europe and then come back to America,” he continued. “And then hopefully be able to come down and see you guys in Australia and New Zealand, and then go to Asia and Russia — everywhere. Just tour for the next two years or so on the new album. ...

Former JUDAS PRIEST singer Tim “Ripper” Owens has once again defended Kenneth “K.K.” Downing over the comments the ex-PRIEST guitarist made about his former bandmates in his 2018 autobiography, explaining that Downing is just telling the truth. K.K. departed the iconic band 11 years ago but looked back on his time with the British metal titans in “Heavy Duty: Days And Nights In Judas Priest”, which came out in September 2018. The book, which was written with collaborator Mark Eglinton, covers all of the behind-the-scenes turbulence that led to Downing‘s exit from PRIEST, including his strained relationship with guitarist Glenn Tipton and his gripes with certain managerial decisions. During a new appearance on “The Jasta Show”, the podca...
Once you know the premise, you realize there’s no other possible title for Somebody Somewhere. The new HBO comedy, executive produced by the Duplass brothers and directed in part by Jay Duplass, stars Bridget Everett as Sam, a 40-something resident of small-town Kansas who’s mourning her deceased. sister, working a dull job, and in general feeling a bit lost in life — until, that is, she becomes closer to Joel (Jeff Hiller), an old high school classmate who helps reawaken in her a passion for music. The show is a sometimes sweet, sometimes sad, and more often than not very funny look at what it means to try to reawaken after years of sleepwalking through life, anchored by the deep and complex friendship between its central characters. During a recent press day, Consequence was lucky enough...
Nearly a year after being caught on camera using a racial slur, Morgan Wallen appeared on stage at the event honoring Martin Luther King Jr. The country singer made a surprise appearance at Nashville’s MLK Freedom Fest on Saturday night, joining rapper Lil Durk for a performance of their recent collaborative single, “Broadway Girls.” In introducing Wallen, Lil Durk said he was “genuine at heart,” and added, “Can’t nobody cancel shit without me saying it, you know what I’m saying?” In February 2021, footage of Wallen using the n-word was posted to TMZ. In the video, which was filmed by his neighbor, Wallen was seen drunkenly yelling, “Take care of this pussy ass motherfucker. Take care of this pussy ass n****.” Wallen later attributed his behavior to being in the throes of a 72-hour bender....

The new BULLETBOYS lineup, featuring singer Marq Torien, guitarist Ira Black (OF GODS & MONSTERS, LIZZY BORDEN, METAL CHURCH), bassist Brad Lang (Y&T, BURNING RAIN) and drummer Fred Aching (POWERFLO, BILLYBIO), made its live debut yesterday (Saturday, January 15) at RokIsland Fest in Key West, Florida. Photos and video of the performance can be found above and below (courtesy of Jessica Chase). Torien launched the new version of BULLETBOYS earlier this month after the band’s original lineup fell apart following a two-year reunion. Original bassist Lonnie Vencent failed to show up for a scheduled BULLETBOYS performance at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California on December 16, forcing the gig to be canceled. Torien instead delivered an acoustic set with Black. It was ...
