Decapitate The Aging World – FURIS IGNIS

RATING: 8/10 As any dedicated observer of the underground will tell you, there is never a shortage of new black and death metal music being made. If it’s quantity you want, the underground will provide, and often with some quality thrown in too. But it remains a daunting challenge to sift the very finest, black-hearted outpourings from the general, gruesome deluge of noisemakers, particularly in the realm of underground black metal. Fortunately, records like “Decapitate The Aging World” make it easy. Atmosphere is utterly pivotal to black metal’s spirit and appeal, and whether through judgement, intuition or dumb luck, this one-man German blitzkrieg has conjured a debut record that absolutely brims with the stuff. Coupled with songwriting that plunders the best of b...

Why TONY IOMMI And TONY MARTIN Can’t Legally Record New Music Under BLACK SABBATH Name

Former BLACK SABBATH singer Tony Martin says that he has no idea what is going on with the proposed reissues of the albums he recorded with the band. BLACK SABBATH released six albums with Martin on vocals: “The Eternal Idol” (1987), “Headless Cross” (1989), “Tyr” (1990), “Cross Purposes” (1994), “Cross Purposes Live” (1995) and “Forbidden” (1995). Eventually, Martin and his “Forbidden”-era bandmates were ousted when guitarist Tony Iommi reunited with SABBATH‘s fellow original members. Martin discussed the possibility of the LPs from his era of SABBATH being reissued in a brand new interview with Canada’s The Metal Voice. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “We had a guy in BLACK...

LEE AARON Hopes To Release Her Autobiography In 2022

Canadian rock icon Lee Aaron, who is known primarily as a solo artist and songwriter, recently went on the podcast “Side Jams with Bryan Reesman” to talk about her new music as well as outside interests like interior design, art, special education, and neuroscience. She also revealed that she is working on her autobiography. “I have been writing memoirs off and on for about a decade,” she told “Side Jams”. “But now I’ve actually gotten serious about putting them into a book form, and actually going back and addressing incidents throughout my childhood that shaped me to become the artist that I ultimately became. Going back and delving into some of that stuff is like therapy, it’s kind of hard. My plan at this point is to have the book r...

How I Met Your Father Review: Hulu’s Sequel Series Has Some Scraps of Potential

The Pitch: Somewhere in the vast wide multiverse, there is a planet Earth where, in the year 2022, the How I Met Your Mother spin-off series How I Met Your Dad is just now reaching its eighth season, with star Greta Gerwig thinking longingly about the indie film about growing up in Sacramento that she always wished she’d have a chance to direct. That planet Earth is not our planet Earth, where, in the year 2022, How I Met Your Dad ended as a 2014 CBS pilot that never made it to series, Greta Gerwig’s 2018 film Lady Bird received five Oscar nominations, and Hilary Duff is now starring in How I Met Your Father, a spiritual and literal sequel to the long-running CBS sitcom about the world’s most long-winded parent giving his kids way too much information about his past dating life. Does Sophi...

Nevermind Baby Spencer Elden Refiles Lawsuit Against Nirvana

Nevermind baby Spencer Elden has refiled his lawsuit against Nirvana, weeks after a judge dismissed his initial complaint. Elden, who was famously photographed as a baby on the cover to 1991’s Nevermind, first filed a lawsuit in August 2021 against the band’s surviving members, Kurt Cobain’s widow Courtney Love, and Nirvana associates. Elden, who is now 30, alleged that the image of his four-month-old self underwater with exposed genitals was child pornography, and said that by distributing it worldwide Nirvana had engaged in a “sex trafficking venture.” Nirvana’s surviving members, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, as well Love, filed a motion to dismiss Elden’s lawsuit on December 22nd. They argued that the suit was “not serious,” filed years after the federal statute of limitations had ru...

The composition is featured on Vai‘s upcoming studio album titled “Inviolate” which will be released digitally and on CD on January 28. The vinyl will follow on March 18. Vai states: “The title for this track ‘Zeus In Chains’ was told to me by the track when I was listening back and asked it… ‘What’s your name?’ This happened during the heavy guitar breakdown with the dissonant high note that happens right before the solo. It sounded like Zeus in chains. Hey, it’s art. You can make up anything you want and it’s legitimate.” Over the course of a more than 40-year career, Vai has routinely transformed...

SAMMY HAGAR On EDDIE VAN HALEN: ‘I Don’t Think Anyone Realized How Sick He Was’

In a new interview with KUSI‘s Paul Rudy, Sammy Hagar spoke how he mended his relationship with the late Eddie Van Halen prior to the legendary VAN HALEN guitarist’s October 2020 passing. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “The whole year, of 2020, in the early parts, around January, Eddie and I connected and we started talking again. We were talking about writing music again. We were talking about going out and touring with the whole gang one time for the big time in ’22; that was the plan. Of course we wouldn’t wanna announce anything like that. But I think Wolfie [Eddie‘s son Wolfgang Van Halen] said it in some interviews how everybody was planning on doing that, and it would have been the greatest thing that ever happened to VAN HALEN. Unf...

NIRVANA ‘Nevermind’ Baby Refiles Lawsuit Against Band

According to Rolling Stone, the man who claims he was the baby featured on the cover of NIRVANA‘s “Nevermind” album has refiled his lawsuit against the band, a little over a week after a judge dismissed his initial complaint. Last August, Spencer Elden filed the lawsuit, alleging the photo of the baby reaching for a dollar in a swimming pool violated federal child pornography statutes and arguing child sexual exploitation. He also claimed the image on the cover was taken and used without his consent. In last month’s motion to dismiss, NIRVANA, as well as Kurt Cobain‘s widow, Courtney Love, had asked the court to throw out the lawsuit, saying Elden‘s claim that the photograph on the “Nevermind” cover is child pornography is “not serious&...
